Transformation

(Inspiration for this poetic piece, click me to listen to song)

Transformation

I feel myself disconnecting from who I am.

Who I am….

Who I…………..was?

I’m beginning to wonder: what’s wrong with me?

Why am I losing pieces of myself?

Why are those pieces floating out of my consciousness like a stream of water flowing downstream at an unimaginably blinding speed?

I see you.

I…..saw you?

I’m beginning to wonder if I’m starting to see you or if I’m beginning to see…….my own reflection?

Like a kaleidoscope of dizzying colors, my once dreary eyes are beginning to see the faint lights of ever-changing fates.

To see the potential of you and I. To feel the winds of unspoken truths caress my face with faulty lies.

I’ve begun to speak in my dreams of feverish nightmares borne of an indifference to what’s going on in our shared world.

I’ve begun to distance myself from who we are meant to be.

I’ve broken our promise.

I’m sorry.

I’m so incredibly sorry.

I feel like I failed who I was meant to be.

And yet…

Yet my future is bright.

What does that even mean?

Why do we cherish those who have “made it”?

One day.

One day, I swear on my very soul.

I will live my truth.

I will change this world, even if for just a flash of a moment.

I will change the collective consciousness of our society for just a second in history.

I will defend the honor of what it means to truly survive and thrive in this world, I will remind myself of why I still breathe.

No doubt the best of humanity dies young; for the old and aging continue to live and support this world full of deception and abuse. I should know, I’m becoming such a thing. Such a creature of the night.

Why haven’t I ended it all for myself?

I don’t feel suicidal. That’s likely the reason why. But still…why am I playing along with this game?

I can’t stop myself either. I’m filled with determination unlike anything of this world. But…why? Why am I so competitive? Why am I so determined? Even though I don’t wish to be, I just am?

Confusing thoughts spiral in my mind as a wave of over-confidence washes over me…or is it doubt?

But I’m not indecisive; though I wish I was at this moment.

I wish I was more confused than I’m playing it out to be.

I wish I could come up with some excuse; some tainted truth.

Thoughts intertwined with hallowed emotions. I don’t actually feel anything at this moment. I’ve become numb. And yet, my heart still beats? It beats with life, with the ever-pulsing rhythm of life.

Why has our world succumb to such devastation and derelict woes?

Why, why, why, why, why, why.

Our voices are drowned out, our opinions are non-existent, and our stories will forever be untold.

The truth will forever glimmer in the moonlit sky like a long-forgotten wish. The truth will flicker as a lone candle does in the dead of night. The truth will be unseen like the silent bird which has no voice to sing. The truth will exist, but only for itself alone. It will never be comforted, never be hugged with delight or cherished for its unique characteristics. It will never be able to shine so brightly that the sun, and the moon, and all the stars are meaningless to the bountiful life on Earth.

The truth will forever remain unclaimed. Forever untouched and despised. For truth brings inconvenience. It fosters a sense of hostility between two souls. It reminds all of us of our inevitable death. It reminds us that life is so precious; yet we are wasting it away day-in-and-day-out by working away at a job which holds no meaning to our true community; our true loved-ones.

The truth is harsh.

It is cruel and cold.

Like the nights of cold-sweat drenching your body; it is unforgiving and relentless. Like the days full of addiction and of growing numbness to life; rejection of truth brings about the calamity of your very existence. Like the darkening sky full of dread, or the mysterious secrets veraciously biting away at your soul as you try and reason and bargain with darker realities. Truth untouched is like a baby without her mother. It is like an unheard cry in the middle of nowhere. It is like the blood-thirsty eyes of a feral creature ready to devour it’s prey.

It is like the breaking of glass, as the world comes shattering down upon the weight of our lies.

But…

Once acknowledge and accepted; truth transforms it’s once ugly disguise into a beautiful soul.

Dancing in the light of day, truth can once again show us the way to salvation and holiness.

It can help us become worthy of being named children of goodness. Children of the righteous path – even if it isn’t always the easiest one.

Truth……

Truth can set us free again.

Gaining New Perspectives in Life

When you write, a lot of the times there are many different angles to look at any given situation you’re focused on. Whether you’re writing a non-fiction or fiction book, you’ll usually find yourself wondering which way is the best manner in which to start or view your topic of choice. It’s always important to see something from multiple viewpoints, you never want to look at a piece of writing and wonder what the purpose behind it is.

Yet this post isn’t about writing. No, it’s about the new perspectives gained through being more aware of your environment (both imagined and real).

Some of the best methods of gaining a new perspective in your life is to imagine what your own experience would be like in a different person’s position. Better yet, you can also imagine what the world must feel like on a daily basis. Just imagine what the life of a mouse must be like. Or even how the sound of a clock ticks while an empty house remains silent amidst a time of vast uncertainty. The possibilities are endless with this type of thinking.

There’s no end to creativity, the only limit is yourself. Never be too afraid, always question the validity of a person, a situation, or even the state of our world. The more you start to question, the more you begin to realize that everything in life is permitted. With this viewpoint, you can better understand a lot of the current world affairs in today’s globalized society.

A defining moment in any person’s life, is characterized by a sense of awakening, or even a sense of understanding herself/himself in the world and where they stand in it. It can be a truly humbling, and sometimes even terrifying, realization when you begin to understand and come to terms with a lot of the realities of our existence and what it even means to be human in this ever-changing environment. To grasp your own identity is the single best thing you can ever do, not only for yourself, but for those around you who truly love you and cherish you for who you are as a human being in the world.

On a more transparent note, I want to let you know, that perspective also helps you to heighten your sense of awareness of the crueler fates amidst our globalized world. Because in some manner, you will realize that even if you’re just one person in a sea of others, you can change the world (even if it is at a micro-level, it’s still very significant in the grander scheme of life). Your actions, especially during times of hardship and uncertainty in your society, can help to further strengthen the bonds and connections you have with those around you.

Perspective of different people, different life-forms, and different ideologies, is probably the best tool to have if you are a writer. You’re able to understand so many otherwise mysterious concepts in mainstream society. You’re able to better analyze why something happened, and the many different things that caused it.

It’s kind of like being a detective, but the only thing is, no one in the entire world knows you’re paying attention.

If you choose to be naïve or willingly ignorant, I cannot judge you. I used to judge people on being ignorant, back when I was a teenager. But now that I’m an adult, I’ve come to understand that everything (and I mean everything) has a reason for being the way it is; and those things don’t necessarily change as quickly as they should. Some things can stay the “same” for a very, very long time. Inevitably, however, things do change. Whether it be in minutes, hours, days, months, years, centuries, or a millennia – everything eventually succumbs to change.

I could go on, but my time is limited today. I have a lot of work to do, and so little time to finish it. If anything, I’ll leave you with one simple thought: hold the deepest parts of yourself close to your soul, but also let the world see a part of who you truly are. In this way, you can better build your own personality through the different tribulations and trials out there in our shared environment.

After all, we show only the parts of ourselves which we want the world to see. Ultimately, this is what makes perspective so fascinating and intriguing. Different perspectives are the only hidden truth worth discovering in this estranged and chaotic world.

Arkanim: Tales of the Enlightened Ones

Hello everyone! It’s me R.S. Noel coming to you with another post. For today, I’m going to make it short and also provide another excerpt from Arkanim: Tales of the Enlightened Ones. This is another work-in-progress book that I’ve been writing for a while now. To be honest, this is the very first work-in-progress book I had originally started on when I was young. But through the years, growing-up got the better of me, and I had put this story aside.

Now, however, it’s come into my life once again.

The following is a work-in-progress by me, R.S. Noel. I hold and maintain all the rights for the work presented below. Thank you for your interest and understanding. Enjoy!:

It was growing. All around her, she could hear the sounds of light footsteps, of silent windy whispers gliding through the jungle’s vines, of the many different sounds of nature that were now engulfing the foreigners. Rhea couldn’t distinguish between what noise belonged to a human and what noise belonged to the wild life of these unruly jungles.

There was no doubt in her mind that they were being watched closely, it was only a matter of time before something immensely uncertain happened.

Rhea could hear Merthus beginning to breath slightly faster now as the boy had undoubtedly noticed the subtle changes in the Flurrus Jungle as well. Rhea wished at this very moment that she could just comfort the small child, but she knew that it was hopeless to even pretend that everything was all right. She knew that they just needed to survive through this experience. Their lives had become nothing more than the basic instinct of survival. Nothing else mattered; just their willpower to make it out of this mess alive.

Moving a bit quicker through the narrow path they were walking upon, Rhea could tell that Zante was increasingly growing worried as he appeared to turn his head slightly left and right from time to time. Rhea knew that the man was surely trying to figure out if the hidden Urksinians were going to show themselves right now or not.

She knew now at this very moment that Zante Qitzo truly did care for their wellbeing. If Rhea had any doubts before, they were put to rest as her eyes maintained a steady gaze on the back of Zante’s head. This was the only thing that Rhea could manage to look at, as she feared trying to avert her gaze even slightly away towards the noises that were only continuing to grow around her. It would only serve to bring more trouble to them.

In the distance from this curving road riddled with dark soil, Rhea could see two large arching gates that were closed shut. She could not see beyond that point, as there appeared to be plenty of large vines and roots covering the otherwise visible sight of the village certainly behind the gates.

Some of Rhea’s hair covered her face lightly now, as a tailwind swept to the left side of her. She knew that this was no natural occurrence. Her eyes grew wide with fascination. Someone was running unimaginably fast now behind the veil of the thick jungle life to her left. Rhea did not dare to remove her hair from her face, as she now looked dead straight ahead without even entertaining the thought that she could look elsewhere. Her eyes were wide with paralyzed fear. She knew her inner fear was showing, and she cursed very silently underneath her breath as she wished for nothing else but to hide such vulnerable emotions.

It was without question that Rhea, Merthus, and Dasca were simply not welcomed here. Even before she had seen any of the Urksinians within the village of Kinkuly itself, Rhea was now starting to understand the workings of different people from different parts of the world.

As the group neared closer to the heavily vegetated gates that surely led into the village of Kinkuly, Rhea could see four guardsmen standing ever so silently amongst the vines. Rhea had not seen them before, and likely because they were wearing armor that was the same shade of green as the verdant gates. She was in awe at how unmoving they were, better than statues. Certainly the messenger that Zante had sent ahead of them had let these guardsmen know that they were nearing the village. And by they, Rhea knew she was thinking more along the lines of Dasca, Merthus, and herself.

Gorgirians were not exactly on friendly terms with Urksinians.

Rhea could feel the intensity of those behind her, as she momentarily shut her eyes to allow her fears to subside just a little more.

Then, that’s when it happened.

Jumping from the many trees that were grouped tightly together on both sides of the narrow path – came down about nine native Urksinians. They all appeared intimidating and full of untapped energy. Most of them were men, broad shouldered and towering in size. About two of them were Urksinian women, still equally intimidating with their bulging muscles and unfamiliar physiques.

Yet it was one of the Urksinian men that started to walk straight up to Zante that really caught Rhea’s fearful attention. This man had the broadest of shoulders amongst the newfound Urksinians, thick arms the size of tree trunks, and powerful legs that could likely crush even a newborn gorgus.

He landed squarely in front of Zante as he stared at the man with an unflinching gaze that appeared to bulge out with deep hatred. “Zante Qitzovena’lu hega nemno qora-dod belsion!” [Zante Qitzo…you’ve come back home with slaves in tow!].

Though Rhea had no idea what this unknown new man had just said, she could tell Zante was guarding any sign of emotions as he responded back clearly and with a deepened voice. “Jersde leme’neleno, cirlee; nem belsion.” [They are foreigners, guests; not slaves].

An Ode to Her Soul

The soul of her existence inspired life in me.

The energy of her presence reminded me of the true meaning of life’s quarrels.

Her unique aura reminded me of a time when chaos and harmony clashed together to create beautiful and wicked life as it once was before.

Her doubts and insecurities reminded me that we’re all just humans full of emotions which I may never fully understand and will never completely appreciate.

But my manhood is the compliment of her womanhood. Her soul is the Yin and my mind is the Yang. Her ethereal being is the light to my darker reality which I will never show her. Her blossoming life force is what attracts people to gather together and become happier. My life force reminds people of the necessary harshness of our natural world and order.

My coarse hands interlace with her soft and reassuring palms. Her existence is both significant to me and a nuisance. For she is both as necessary as the air we breathe; and ironically so, she is also the metaphorical pain in my heart reminding me that we must deal with emotions even if we wish emotions could just disappear.

Her emotional intelligence far exceeds my mathematical mindset. Her natural intuition senses things I’ll never see. In contrast, the man’s perception of the physical life we live will never quite phase her own life force. For her heart is beyond the physical manifestations of our being. Woman is not of bleak reality. No, she is of boundless creativity ready to burst open at the seams with unapologetic life.

Yet she also has a strange way of keeping me grounded when I begin to try and live past the physical manifestation of this existence. For I will never know the world a woman lives in; and I’ve accepted that I am okay with such a truth.

I will never know her secrets, her wisdom, her thoughts, or her own personal desires for a truly balanced life.

But in that same regard, she will never know the secrets I know, the adventures I go on, or the memories created. She will never know the many loves of my life. For even though she is a huge part of my life- she isn’t my entire life. I appreciate her existence and presence, but I also must have my own space just as much as she needs hers.

I feel selfish, and I wish I didn’t feel this way.

But life is about the golden memories we create, not the overarching society. It’s about enduring through the pains and heartache and remembering that as a man, I can’t afford to stop and remorse for lost loved ones.

For the same society that hinders her personal freedoms, also forbids my emotions and thoughts. For she may not realize it yet; but her existence far exceeds my own. She is the bearer of all human life, and I am merely a man. A man who can certainly do great things; but does not care for pandering to the society which holds us all back.

For I champion not my own success, but the success of brighter and smarter individuals. We are all faced with adversity, and in this ever-changing world full of automation and machine; I have reverted back to being human. I have been reminded of the true world of possibilities and imagination once again. It rests with humans, not with machines.

Through these last couple of years, I’ve come to realize that a woman’s life is full of so many interesting, sad, funny, horrifying, amazing, unique, and miscellaneous moments. Her existence is one of pure good and evil. She lives knowing the truth of our being, knowing that humans are her children to raise. To know that the world will one day take her children’s innocence away without her consent or forewarning. She knows that all of her loved ones will fade away, and one day, she will find herself alone and reminded of our boring, bleak, and uneventful reality.

But unlike man; she will also have her own secret memories to cherish forevermore through time immemorial.

And moreover, she still has purpose in her life. She will guide the hand of the misguided, the abandoned, and the forgotten. For she will remain steadfast in her judgment of what’s truly right and what is wickedly wrong. For even though my own judgment may be clouded by unchanging circumstances a man must go trough in his life; she will fight with a voice mightier than any lion; louder than any howling wind, and more potent than any poison. For her words sting the hardest, grow the thickest, and blossom the brightest. For she has a way with her presence that sways me to secretly believe her every word. Love has a funny way of blinding a man from otherwise obvious signs of danger or misgivings.

I know she will never truly understand a man’s world – but at the end of the day, as long as we both know that our love burns brightly in this small moment in time; then I can live with the fact that we may never see each other again.

My days are filled with meaning only because of her joy. My sorrows only exist because of her true and feigned emotions. My heart only beats due to the boundless love and bottomless anger she makes me feel at times. It’s passion, and I don’t know what I would do without her love. I would find another, and another, and another. For I could never live without a woman’s love. A woman’s love is the purest form of love there is in the world. She may not realize it right now, but her heart and her thoughts are what makes this world magical again.

We see eye-to-eye and understand that we will forever be at-odds. She understands we have roles to play; temporary parts to a fading play. She knows that this lifetime is short, so she makes the best of her days. I may have just realized my own mortality; but she knew of death the moment she realized she could create life.

I could go on about my admiration and amazement at woman’s existence; but I won’t. I know she understands our existential manifestation, and our never-ending love for passion. She knows man is nothing with woman, and in that same regard- even if she never voices it; she understands that life would be meaningless without man’s toil and aggression.

But in the end, when the curtains of this fading play finally drape down at the end; I will die knowing that I’ll never find another one of her. She was my first love, and she’ll forever be my last.

Music Monday! – Birth of a Mythos

Hey everyone; it’s time for another Music Monday! post. This is R.S. Noel here, and I felt inspired by recent philosophical thoughts of mine pertaining to the possible future of our world.

Though this year was full of important and memorable events for all, there seems to be something looming just over the metaphorical hilltop which makes this one a seemingly insignificant year.

This track is what inspired me tonight, on the eve of this weeks Music Monday!

As per usual, I recommend listening to this track with headphones on, so you don’t disturb anyone around you, or in the same room as you. I suppose you could categorize this music as “epic orchestral”: (Click me to listen to soundtrack!)

Warning, what you are about to read may be graphic in intensity. Moreover, this is just a summarized piece of a book I’m writing entitled “Mythos of Azernos”. Please read at your own discretion.

Inspiration behind this work-in-progress: Greek/Roman Mythology, current global affairs, and an imagination as expansive as the universe itself.

I will begin without further delay:

A mythos as old as time itself, this is yet one which should never be told. Only during times of vast uncertainty and darkness does this tale make its presence known to our world.

This is a story of two mortal lovers separated by technological warfare; platoons of soldiers destined for death; a secret trio of two gods and a goddess moving in the guise of silence and darkness to attack at the perfect moment; and of the robotic dictator-like board of inhuman rulers who have the final say in the human lives they watch over.

Yet, this mythos is not just full of sorrow nor of gods and goddesses alone. It is not just a tale of the connection between the physical and spiritual world. Nor of hatred or of war, nor of the everimpeding doom the humans face in their very existence. And it is not even a tale of desperation. No, this is one of much more.

During times of war, of famine and famish, and of widespread death – our physical world is torn between what is right and what is conquered. It faces the dilemma of choosing the value of human life over that of machination and automation.

And so….it begins.

The wicked machine lifelessly and unknowingly plots alongside the sinister human tacticians whom rule over the lives of all who remain complacent with such twisted rules. Deception, Goddess of Intelligent Lies, directs these misguided intellects towards false destinies and deathly fates. She favors inquisitiveness and cleverness above all else, not saving even an ounce of sympathy for the fool-hearty or naive lover of life.

Opposing the Goddess of Intelligent Lies; is Honesty, Goddess of Naive Truth and Strength. She fights with a brave heart and protects any such mortal she deems worthy of a passionate battle. Honesty also holds the hands of all those who were lied to or left for Death‘s door. She, unlike Deception or Death, is one to give way towards forgiveness and happier days.

And as the war between the gods and goddesses in the spiritual world rages on; the physical world is yet one full of mortal misery and misfortune.

The wealthiest human beings, those belonging in the 1%, live in floating castle-like landscapes. Man-made structures which took centuries to build. Long ago, all humans were born onto the land they would eventual die on. But in this modern world, those who are fortunate enough can live their entire lives completely oblivious to the pains and ills of those below who’s only wish is to live comfortably enough to enjoy life’s most basic blessings.

Of course, these so-called “wealthy” individuals are nothing more than forced slaves. Forced to exist against their wishes; for they were not born from other humans. They were born from technologies which replaced the role of man and woman.

With technology, humans can create human life without the presence of man or woman. They can create a false community, full of lonely offsprings with no parents to love them. Society’s rules are upside-down; favoring the old and forgetting the young. Putting importance on those who have ailing health and discarding those who are healthy and able-bodied. Favoring those who are silent and studious; and casting aside those who show even an inkling of creativity or sympathy. Indeed, this reality was brought upon due to the lack of love and affection the older humans received when they were young themselves.

Yet how could they grow up normally? They too had no parents themselves; they were also born from machines and automations which replaced their otherwise natural parent’s roles.

Favoring the fearful, and hindering the bravest of brave souls; this reality has fractured the very equilibrium of human progression. Because truth be told; in this sickened reality; healthier human beings are seen as a liability. A threat to the very stability and structure of this intentionally weakened society. A reality which was calculatingly fostered about by the policymakers of this new world.

Yet far down-below, away from the strange oddities of the modern world, is a world plagued with other horrors. Natural nightmares.

Humans in the world-below are savages and unintelligent to the ways of science or mathematics. They are uncivilized and cruel. Taking whatever they so wish to, and having no regard for their rival cities, villages, and tribes. But unlike their counterparts living high-above in the material-like castles; these humans experience life as it should be.

These humans, down below in the midst of natural water and landscapes, may very well have a truer sense of community and a truer sense of love and affection. With the good, also comes along the bad and the ugly.

Such hostility and brute force has overshadowed any sense of protection or safety. Either way, they live lives full of truth and risk.

But like everything else in life, change is inevitable.

Change whispers amongst those belonging to the natural world below.

Change, the Goddess of Opportunity and Prosperity, embraces the deceased old man who has starved to death. She comforts and warms the soul of the woman who is bleeding out as she gives birth to her only hope worth living for. Change wraps her delicate and understanding arms around the lost children of an ancient city down below; as they rummage through the piles of old technologies and resources worth scavenging for. She delights the young man and young woman who have each other in this otherwise cold and desolate world.

Change works alone.

Yet as day turns to night, Change sees her opposition clearly now.

As the sounds of discarded blasts and tainted gun-fire ring out, War and Death have begun their onslaught on the humans down below. War, God of Discarded Life, and Death, Goddess of Tainted Souls, begin their ultimate campaign for ruination.

Yet Change is amongst those soldiers who are missing an arm, a leg, a soul, or a heart. She reminds them during their passage to eternal slumber, that their life was yet one of great sacrifice. She reassures them that the future generations to come will prosper once again after this long and dreary drought of human progress.

Change hurriedly protects every man and woman who’s life hangs in the very balance of Judgement now. For Change knows all-too well that Judgment holds no bias.

For unlike Change, War, Death, or any of the other gods and goddesses – Judgement speaks the final word on every matter. Judgment is God of Ultimate Authority and Rule. He is the very leader of the gods and goddesses, watching closely on every action imaginable and exacting his powers upon those he deems evil beyond repair; or even those who are good beyond reason.

As the mortals and machines of the physical world fight for survival, and as this play of truth and lies wages on; the true beginning of this mythos yet unfolds on the most auspicious of days.

For a single mortal man and a single mortal woman, have come together in union to exchange words which have long since been forgotten about in this world and reality of devastation and death.

For Passion, God of Livelihood, and Love, Goddess of Faithfulness, have granted a rare gift upon their otherwise mortal baby. Indeed, Passion and Love brought together these two brave and determined mortal souls to foster forward one such son who is at the center of this sprawling and epic tale of cheer and woe. A hero amongst the greatest of heroes. He will be one who’s name shan’t be forgotten even through the passage of time itself. For his mythos; his very legacy; spans multiple tomes, crosses paths with many different lores, and intersects with countless epics.

A son born of true love, born of real passion. His heart and soul are brighter than any such star, than any raging flame or fire, and stronger than any man or machine. His life, infused with the sacred powers of a half-god, is one of an underdog story.

His name…..

Azernos.

Music Monday! – As I Write

Welcome to my new series Music Monday! This series will be the very harbinger of what I listen to whenever I write stories of fiction. It’s a recording and a collection of the best inspiring music which has had a variety of effects on me. Depending on what I’m writing, I usually listen to one of three types of genres. The first, is that of daring adventure. The second, is one of immense tragedy or sorrow. And the third, is usually that of intensely dark or twisted music.

Here’s a sample of what I’m listening to at the moment as I write. I would also advise you wear headphones if you do decide to check out the music. You can hear every single piece of note and instrument being played out much better this way: (Click me to listen to music via youtube).

The thundering sounds of suspense, the endless waves of emotions that comes with the monumental encounters of life; these are the moments I live for. At times, when I’m writing a scene that is full of blinding twists and endless turns, I find myself gladly overcome by a huge amount of adrenaline which washes over me and nearly drowns me in the expanse of life’s many outcomes. It’s an onslaught of events, back-to-back-to-back; and I love every minute of it.

A lead-up to an even larger event; which leads to a different path and an outcome unseen; until the crescendo is met near the end of each main plot-line. These are the moments I live for as a writer.

It’s so strong, so intense, that my fingers are typing just in-tempo with the blinding speed of succession of the heart-pounding scene unfolding in front of my mind’s eye. Though I can barely keep up with the pace of my rapidly-changing brain patterns as the story comes to me through some sixth sense, or God-knows what else; I am rewarded when I finish each scene. Though I may have exhausted all sources of energyreserve within my soul; once I finish a scene, I see the hard-work that actually goes into it. Like any good story, there is a definitive “beginning”, “middle”, and “end”.

There are countless and numerous tracks that I listen to; and with this series, I’m hoping that I can record them all. I know it might be near-impossible, since there are so many tracks that I listen to while I write.

But with every track played, I get that much closer to finding closure in each story I write.

Writing is such a sacred art. It consist of concentration on a level that many of us are not comfortable with. It can cause a sort of distancing mechanism in writers, and many times, it can even cause extreme cases of isolation. Yet that’s what makes writing so intriguing. Like many other forms of expression; writing can produce works of living art. And if you’re lucky enough to know how to work through the social environment of the movie industry, you may even see your own book turned into a movie.

In the end though, one must remember to balance out their lives. Because, as the saying goes: “everything in moderation”. Or else you can very well find yourself somewhat deranged and mentally exhausted.

During my breaks between writing, I keep each story deep within the confinements of my mind; since nowadays, I’m focused more on school-work then I am with my true interest, which rests in writing.

In some way, that’s why I started this website/blog. I wanted a place where I could jot down my thoughts on different topics. Probably the best surprise, was that it also helped me connect with countless people with interesting life-stories and backgrounds full of inquisitive knowledge. It’s led me to this amazing network full of other passionate writers, photographers, travelers, and hobbyists. It’s led me down a path which I am all-too glad to walk upon.

There are certainly many things left unsaid in this post, but for today, I believe it’s the right time to end this piece.

God bless all of you, and I hope you have a fine rest of your day, (or night)!

Forever in Your Debt,

R.S. Noel

What is Love? (Part 1)

Love is such an immensely large part of who we are as human beings. It’s what defines us as a species, and moreover, it’s what defines the generations to come into existence. We are passionate creatures, we do “reckless” things out of our emotions of love. The greatest dramas, tragedies, and plays of our time have all cumulated to stories with the whirlwind effects and consequences of true love at it’s highest form.

It’s something that we will never get rid of, and I’m completely glad this is the case. Because life without love is like a fish without water. In other words; there’s no point to living life without some form of love.

The whole premise of our existence is to feel; just as much as we utilize our minds for logic. Truth be told though, it’s a balancing act. It’s about the Yin and Yang, about the equilibrium of our existential presence here in this experience we call life.

Hello everyone, it’s me R.S. Noel coming to you with another post. I want to say thank you again for all of the new and returning followers; this has become such a great and interactive side-hobby for me, that I can see myself blogging for years to come. I have plenty of time (God willing I don’t get hit by a truck or anything), and I intend to use some of that time in life reading, and more importantly, writing; here on my website.

Since the beginning of time for human beings, love has always been at the root of our birth. Through the harshest winters imaginable, to the deadliest heatwaves known to mankind; love has always prospered a civilization, it has always made a people grow into a culture worth remembering and worth knowing. For even through all of the convoluted lies, deceptions, and backstabbing; love will always prevail in the end. And that’s what makes life such a thrill, such a rush of fresh air.

It’s exhilarating, the experience of knowing someone you love will always be by your side; whether in life or in memory; love still exists in both realms. A companion to always comfort you when you’re in your darkest hour of life; such a person in your personal life surely holds great importance to you. That emotion you feel for your loved one, that feeling you experience every time you see them; that’s what life is all about. It’s about cherishing the small time we all have here on Earth, and making the best of whatever twisted or unfair situation we find ourselves in. Because at the end of the day, none of the “fluff” of materialism has ever mattered. You won’t be taking anything of material wealth with you to the afterlife. The only things that remain, then, are those of our most cherished memories. Of our fondest times here on Earth.

Love is so incredibly powerful.

It defies the very laws of physics. A force that not even science can ever prove, or disprove. Love is boundless, free-spirited, and has a wild mind of its own. It takes a hold of you in ways you never knew existed. It transcends any drug, any source of pleasure, and any type of attention any of us could ever receive. When you find true love, it’s as though the whole world stops existing for a single moment in time. It’s as though the winds stop, the oceans become calm, and all of the problems and mayhem that plagues your societal life; come to a complete and utter halt.

It’s that emotion you feel after getting over the nastiest memories, the cruelest of people, or the hardest of days. It’s a feeling of truth, the kind that never leaves you. It’s like breathing out a sigh of relief that releases all of your worries, doubts, and fears.

Such an emotion is forbidden in our world for a reason. It holds the very life-force to change the course of our history.

In my own personal life, I secretly utilize this force of change for the betterment of not just my future; but hopefully the future of other people’s life as well. I understand to some degree, that the feeling of love is forever fleeting, and will just as soon arrive at my front door just as quickly as it’s willing to leave.

So what is the purpose of this post today? Well put simply, it’s to remind you of what’s important; even when shit hits the fan. It’s to help keep you grounded when you start to feel powerless or useless. It’s to motivate you to keep on walking forward, even when you see the road ahead of you appears to be nearly impossible to traverse.

Because at the end of the day, all that remains, is love.

Forever in Your Debt,

R.S. Noel

Philosophical Journey (Part 3)

Hey everyone, it’s R.S. Noel here with another enlightening and informative post.

There’s something both magical and horrifying about the way we treat each other.

At times, we can be extraordinarily cordial and reliable towards our fellow men, women, and children. But then, there are times when we turn a blind eye to the vast injustices that different people face in our society at all varying levels of our communities. Once you see the varied facets of life in our society, it’s kind of disheartening to know that there are people who are suffering through immense harassment or degrading treatment in factories, offices, and other workplaces.

I always wondered why hierarchy has been such an important part of our human existance. Of course, I know in the natural world, the animal’s base instincts rule the “jungle”; the systems of hierarchies are all animals know; even if they are obviously not conscious of the kinds of community systems they have set up. But when it comes to humans, we have the capacity for intellectual empathy to a level unseen in any other species. We have the in-depth ability and intellectual power to change how we treat each other.

This leads me invariably to what I’ve been wondering for quite some time now. Past all of the fun, and sometimes serious, competitiveness that is good about our society, there is a side that is less spoken about. The side of ruthlessness. Being “disconnected” from each other has become the norm. It’s looked upon as being “cool” or “acceptable” to be cold and calculating towards those who are either different from ourself, or perceived to be from a lower socioeconomic level then us.

But the only thing that these off-the-wall traits lead me to believe, is that many people in our society are broken and weak beyond human conception of what pain looks, and truly feels, like. There are times that I tried to decipher why people are so incredibly mean; and I’ve come to a very stark conclusion.

Thus, the first conclusion I’ve arrived at; is that the person who is perpetuating deep hatred towards other human beings; is hurt beyond our humanly-known concept of pain. They also feel a lack of control in whatever situation they currently find themselves in. This is a very real problem and issue, due in part to the fact that many people face complex situations where they must choose to either follow their heart; or follow the rules given out to them.

There are times in a person’s life, when even the most difficult of scenarios pushes you between a hard place and a concrete wall.

That’s why I’ve never understood why people, since time immemorial, judge other people for their actions. I’ve come to theorize that anyone who judges someone else’s actions, is not in a position to act themselves.

Given the same opportunity; you and I might very well have gone down the same exact path.

Because the truth of our lives are actually quite simple to understand once you really take the time to sit down and think about why people would do different things in their given situations. We don’t always know what a person is truly going through; all we can do is surmise and “gossip”. But we’ll never truly know; and I believe people would rather not know the many hidden truths hiding in plain sight. It endows into their very soul a sense of deep-rooted fear, a sense of extreme hopelessness that we, the “peons” of the world, are cumulatively powerless and can do nothing to stop those who do hold positions of power.

It’s as though humans have long abandoned living life, and have rather resorted to going through the motions of “reacting” to events outside of their own personal jurisdictions.

We’ve effectively come to a place in life where the mass majority of us can only observe what happens to us; not being allowed to act on any of the injustices we see in the world, without harsh consequences imposed upon us if we were to do so.

In essence, we can do nothing about changing the way things are currently run. But of course, even if we did try and attempt to make any real change, power has a funny way of rearing it’s ugly head. What I’m saying is this: even if we were to replace every single person in power through some kind of transition program; the new people who would eventually transition into their positions; would merely start to change themselves into the very beasts we tried to ward away.

Thus, we’ve come to another contradiction of life. Having power for too long of a time, in any form of it’s manifestations, will only lead to further corruption of that individual’s  body, mind, and soul. Due to the fact that most people aren’t willing to admit that power actually changes the way we as human beings think and process information.

The other type of person who is mean spirited, is on the opposite side of the spectrum. They’re the type of person who is in no position to act.

They are likely the product of overbearing parents or guardians, whether it be a father or mother. You see, like I stated before in my previous posts; life is full of contradictions. It can seem very strange to hear this; but being too “overbearing” on your child can have just as many negative effects as it has positives. Of course, you also don’t want to be so hard on your child that you completely cut all ties with them. But parenting, just like many other things, requires you find some semblance of “normality”. This is starkly different from “balance”.

What I mean by “normality”, is that you need to create your own family environment of what’s acceptable and “normal” for your child to grow up in. It might be difficult at first, because you instinctually want to take care of your child’s ever whim. But by being overbearing, you are guaranteeing you’re child to a life of pain and suffering beyond what humans already endure through. You are, in effect, disabling your child from becoming the adult they need to be as a grown human being in order to survive out there in our still beautiful world. The world they would live is is only shaped by the childhood you give them. Once you understand that your child will always find something to blame you for; you can begin to accept that you are in control of how you parent your child. You have the reign to let them grow, to let them fail while they’re still young and naive. Only then will they begin to understand the importance of “getting back up” after a hard fall.

If you aren’t allowing them to “fail” (or fall, both literally and metaphorically), then your child won’t be ready for the different realities of the world. Without failure, there is no growth.

In truth, we will never fully satisfy every single person’s needs and wants out of a single society. Thus, what we can do in order to strive towards a little bit more of a peaceful existence; is to begin finding people we connect with the most, and sticking with them. That’s our best bet of making our own societies worth living in.

But you see, we come around again to another contradiction of life for a third time in this post. We must realize that leading this kind of life will invariably lead to the concept of “others” to intensify even further. Thus, we will see races divided to levels of existence long forgotten. There’s no humanly way to fully encompass the full scope and depth of injustices we as humans face; but that is what makes the experience of life such a thrill and such a tragedy as well.

If you take anything away from this post, I would want it to be for you to be able to empower yourself by understanding that you still hold some power in your hands. You can still change your fate and future. You just need a fresh start, or a new environment. If you have the means to, I would even say you should try your luck in a different town, city, or even country.

By “freeing yourself”, you begin to give yourself the gift of broader knowledge about your life, about other people’s lives, and about the world in general. There is a deepening sense of grander to life. Once you begin to force your way through all the lies, deception, and crap; it begins to look brighter as you strive to meet new people, connect with others outside of your comfort zone, and understand that not every single person you meet will have genuine intentions to become your ally or friend.

There are so many topics that I can delve deeper into, but for today, I think this is a good place as ever to stop and really reflect upon the differences between our lives. There are always possibilities to have change occur in our daily lives, and the best way to begin, is by taking that leap of faith into the unknown abyss.

Who knows what you’ll discover in your own life story…

Philosophical Journey (Part 2)

Hello everyone, it’s R.S. Noel here with another post. I first wanted to start off by saying thank you to all of my new followers; I’ve been reading many of your interesting articles over the past few days, and it’s inspired me to let go of some of the small biting fear still lingering inside of me. Over the next following years, I want to share with all of you the reflection of our shared world and reality.

Since time immemorial, humans have strived for survival. We’ve strived for a life worth fighting for, a life worth experiencing. Many-a-times, our ancestors failed. Other times though, they’ve succeeded beyond our wildest dreams. But what defines success? In fact, I realized my definition of success may very well in fact be largely different from the definition of success society has thrust upon us.

To me, success is defined as achieving some form or level of enlightenment in your own personal life. Once a person has achieved this general sense of acceptance and happiness, their life truly begins to flourish in ways indescribable in any human words. It’s as though the adventure of a lifetime has just begun, and you suddenly find yourself aboard the ship embarking on this esoteric and mysterious journey. It’s as though the thrill of the unknown no longer scares you. More importantly, you begin to change without even realizing it at first glance.

There are so many unheard secrets, unattended emotions, and unfulfilled desires surrounding us in our daily lives. It’s a silent cry to live a life worth living and experiencing. Though my societal life may not be up-to-par with what our human civilization may deem as “successful”, my personal life has flourished immensely; and I’ve come to thank God for giving me this very specific and particular life.

The true meaning of life? It’s simply to enjoy the company of your loved ones, your friends, and the many new people you may very well meet throughout your lifetime.

It really is as simple as this. Nothing else should ever get in the way of you and your loved ones. Life holds so much more meaning and depth when you begin to shed away the layers and layers of lies and deception our modern-day society has spoon-fed us since birth. Life is so truly beautiful and tragic, and it would be a shame to not be able to experience all of this in it’s entirety.

My heart races every time I write, my mind tinkers and moves with the waves of emotions and logic like an ocean long-forgotten. I swim deep within the ether of life and death, finding myself on the very fine and thin line between this world and the next. Philosophy is this experience, and so much more. It is Truth, it is the acknowledgement of The Other, it is the acceptance of indifferences, and moreover, philosophy is the very definition of madness.

It’s grander than any modern-day drama or play, and it’s more real than any of the false idols the mainstream media tries to forcibly shove down our throats.

There’s a real sense of beauty in the sadness as well, but moreover, there’s a definitive grace and alluring aroma to joy. Both of these combined create quite the life worth experiencing. It helps to shape your consciousness to better understand the truths, lies, and everything in-between. It helps you to secretly know when someone is lying to you, it helps you in times when you recognize genuine intent, and it can certainly help you when you feel uncertain.

Trust your gut instinct, it’s there for a reason.

We cannot fail, because there is no such thing as failing. Failing is defined only in society. In the natural world, you can never fail, because you will always try your hardest and damnedest.

It’s grit that gets us through the tough times, it’s a sense of morality of what we see as right or wrong which creates our environment. Don’t forget the depths of your love either, for that is the energy source of all creations and great things. That is the only force in the whole universe that is uniquely human. It is something even the darkest of nights could never take away; for its’ flames burn eternal. As long as humans exist, it will always burn.

We live for our loved ones, we live for our hobbies and charity-work. We live for the days of great joy and great sorrow. We live for the songs of storytelling. Our lives our defined not by what we say, but by what we do.

Heart of passion and agony is what makes life worth living. It creates an experience of grander and specialty. It fosters the deep drive within all of us to create a story and carve out a path that will never again be walked or experienced. No one knows the thoughts that swirl in your mind at night, for your life is yours alone.

And even though we may die alone, we create memories together. This has always comforted me, it has always reminded me that even enemies make great companions when death has met you halfway.

Think of all of the times you may have felt yourself question the validity of your life. Think back to all of the days you questioned why you’re still alive. If you can remember as far back as possible; think back to those happier days of when you felt truly alive and well.

Those thoughts, memories, and emotions you felt will never die out. Those are your creations alone, and nobody can ever take that away from you, no matter how much they may hate or despise you.

I know the road ahead of me is one riddled in pain, suffering, and great unknown. But I’ve come to accept this reality. I forgive any hatred, any such malice, and any misunderstandings that may arise. I’ll do whatever it takes to make a future where humans are the main concern – not automations, not profits generated from corporations, and certainly, not those who would wish harm on others.

My end-goal in life? That will remain a secret until the day I die. But what I will say; is that I hope it’s not too late. I hope this post has reminded you, in some small or large way, that you still have a duty to fulfill as a human being. You are still needed here on Earth, even if it’s to keep you loved ones company. You can’t back down, not now. For our lives, in death, hold no more meaning then the darkness of the universe. But in life, we can create such catastrophic change that nothing in the world could ever be prepared for the healing, comfort, and truth you bring along. You have your whole life to change the world; and even if your older, as long as your still alive and breathing, you haven’t failed.

Make amends with your past, move onto a more adventurous future, and always remember, that your heart, your passion, and your love will be cherished until the ends of time itself. For love is a human emotion, and no matter how vast or wide the universe is, nothing can ever eradicate or swallow that truth.

Philosophical Journey (Part 1)

Hello everyone, it’s me R.S. Noel coming to you with another post; and today I’ll be talking about the true meaning of life. It’s a complex answer, but if you read through this entire post, you’ll understand what it comes down to.

All of our lives, in some way or another, are interlaced into each other’s existence.

Think about this for a moment:

Have you ever wondered why you feel good whenever you’re with the ones you love?

Or on the flip side, if you don’t have anyone in your personal life; have you wondered why you’re so repelled by those who are; in your opinion, too happy?

Well, for the first statement; the answer is quite clear. There are two reasons for this

The reason you’re strongly attracted to your loved ones (or even those around you who you associate with), is because of how they make you feel. Your brain translates the emotions you feel, and in turn, the neurons in our brain transmits messages to the part of our brain which houses our emotional cortex. We are, by design or by freak accident, compelled to be close to our loved ones because of the way they make us feel about ourselves.

True love is the opposite. Let me explain.

With true love, whenever we witness our loved one having a happy moment, we then become happy ourselves. Without a doubt, this is what true love is comprised of.

On the other side, whenever you don’t want anyone to get “too close” to you, emotionally speaking, then you are most likely wounded from a past experience in your life which has left your soul temporarily disfigured.

The strange part of this, is that during our everyday interactions, we often don’t put much “soul” into the interactions we have with others; and this is obviously because we can’t trust strangers.

So what I’m talking about, is whenever you’ve foster a friendship with another person, and you suddenly feel as though you don’t want to hang out with them anymore, or you just don’t want to deal with hearing them. This is society’s fault, in many regards; but in the end, it really is your own choice in how you react to this feeling of dissociation. Society, since the beginning of time, has always been a massive contradiction.

The only time we truly come together, is in times of struggle and hardship. This creates and fosters a strong bond between those who are a part of such a community. Thus, in turn, any “outsiders” from that moment onward, are then seen as an “invader” into this dynamic.

Thus, in modern society, to no one’s fault, we’ve all become dissociated from one another due to the competitive nature of life (not just capitalism; sure it intensifies this truth of life greatly, but in reality, life has always been cold, ruthless, and a never-ending struggle when seen from our human perspective).

In fact, life itself, when viewed outside of our own personal lives, is pointless. And I don’t just mean pointless in the way a young adult might see it. No, I mean pointless in the manner that every single aspect of our societal lives are tangibly pointless. True life, which is outside of society’s safe and comforting boundaries, is where the meaning hides. But then again, life outside the boundaries of comforts and lies is a harsh reality. Of course, with every negative aspect, comes a positive outcome as well.

Life, when lived “naturally” gives us a stimulating reason to live. Without this stimulating aspect of life, our human existence can seem “pointless”. Yet without the safety and comfort of society, life is feral, fully vicious, and unkind to levels unknown by many of us as humans living in the modern “First World” countries.

So in many probabilities, life in society is likely the better of two evils. The only downside to society, is that most people don’t usually actively feel the need to participate in it. This is a side affect of living in a “profits first” business-environment. Due to this kind of existence, humans have undoubtedly made life more complicated than it already is. Because of the “inefficiencies” of human effort in workplaces, we have degraded ourselves and our fellow brothers and sisters to mere “numbers”. We’re all just seen as algorithms, statistics; data. All of us waiting our turn in a line that leads to small gratification and more suffering in the end.

But the truth is, the alternative is scarier. For some people though, that alternative is their only way out; it’s their only comfort in a society which no longer looks out for their basic needs as human beings.

This is where my own personal experience comes into play into the narrative of this truth and reality. During darker times in my young adult life, I was faced with this dilemma and tried with my best efforts to try and find a way to solve this puzzle we as human beings have created for our children, for our working-class people, and for our elderly. The truth that I’ve found, is one which I don’t think I’ll ever share in the fear that it will crush any such hope or inspiration to see change occur in our world, even at a micro-level.

Moving back to the topic at hand; individually, when we find ourselves in our most vulnerable or private moments with ourselves, we find that life has much more meaning when we begin to foster our imagination. That’s the trick of life; it’s all about creating your own personal world in your mind which makes you feel confident and assured about yourself. In turn, it makes you not care so much what negative people have to say to you.

Anyways, I want to end today’s post here before I go on any further. I have a lot of other topics which I’ll be delving into, but for now, I think this should be a good spot to end.

Remember to always trust your gut instinct, and never doubt your intuition whenever you’re in doubt about something, someone, or anything that may seem a bit off. Life’s full of surprises, twists, turns, and adventures – so make the best of it!
