What is Love? (Part 1)

Love is such an immensely large part of who we are as human beings. It’s what defines us as a species, and moreover, it’s what defines the generations to come into existence. We are passionate creatures, we do “reckless” things out of our emotions of love. The greatest dramas, tragedies, and plays of our time have all cumulated to stories with the whirlwind effects and consequences of true love at it’s highest form.

It’s something that we will never get rid of, and I’m completely glad this is the case. Because life without love is like a fish without water. In other words; there’s no point to living life without some form of love.

The whole premise of our existence is to feel; just as much as we utilize our minds for logic. Truth be told though, it’s a balancing act. It’s about the Yin and Yang, about the equilibrium of our existential presence here in this experience we call life.

Hello everyone, it’s me R.S. Noel coming to you with another post. I want to say thank you again for all of the new and returning followers; this has become such a great and interactive side-hobby for me, that I can see myself blogging for years to come. I have plenty of time (God willing I don’t get hit by a truck or anything), and I intend to use some of that time in life reading, and more importantly, writing; here on my website.

Since the beginning of time for human beings, love has always been at the root of our birth. Through the harshest winters imaginable, to the deadliest heatwaves known to mankind; love has always prospered a civilization, it has always made a people grow into a culture worth remembering and worth knowing. For even through all of the convoluted lies, deceptions, and backstabbing; love will always prevail in the end. And that’s what makes life such a thrill, such a rush of fresh air.

It’s exhilarating, the experience of knowing someone you love will always be by your side; whether in life or in memory; love still exists in both realms. A companion to always comfort you when you’re in your darkest hour of life; such a person in your personal life surely holds great importance to you. That emotion you feel for your loved one, that feeling you experience every time you see them; that’s what life is all about. It’s about cherishing the small time we all have here on Earth, and making the best of whatever twisted or unfair situation we find ourselves in. Because at the end of the day, none of the “fluff” of materialism has ever mattered. You won’t be taking anything of material wealth with you to the afterlife. The only things that remain, then, are those of our most cherished memories. Of our fondest times here on Earth.

Love is so incredibly powerful.

It defies the very laws of physics. A force that not even science can ever prove, or disprove. Love is boundless, free-spirited, and has a wild mind of its own. It takes a hold of you in ways you never knew existed. It transcends any drug, any source of pleasure, and any type of attention any of us could ever receive. When you find true love, it’s as though the whole world stops existing for a single moment in time. It’s as though the winds stop, the oceans become calm, and all of the problems and mayhem that plagues your societal life; come to a complete and utter halt.

It’s that emotion you feel after getting over the nastiest memories, the cruelest of people, or the hardest of days. It’s a feeling of truth, the kind that never leaves you. It’s like breathing out a sigh of relief that releases all of your worries, doubts, and fears.

Such an emotion is forbidden in our world for a reason. It holds the very life-force to change the course of our history.

In my own personal life, I secretly utilize this force of change for the betterment of not just my future; but hopefully the future of other people’s life as well. I understand to some degree, that the feeling of love is forever fleeting, and will just as soon arrive at my front door just as quickly as it’s willing to leave.

So what is the purpose of this post today? Well put simply, it’s to remind you of what’s important; even when shit hits the fan. It’s to help keep you grounded when you start to feel powerless or useless. It’s to motivate you to keep on walking forward, even when you see the road ahead of you appears to be nearly impossible to traverse.

Because at the end of the day, all that remains, is love.

Forever in Your Debt,

R.S. Noel

Philosophical Journey (Part 3)

Hey everyone, it’s R.S. Noel here with another enlightening and informative post.

There’s something both magical and horrifying about the way we treat each other.

At times, we can be extraordinarily cordial and reliable towards our fellow men, women, and children. But then, there are times when we turn a blind eye to the vast injustices that different people face in our society at all varying levels of our communities. Once you see the varied facets of life in our society, it’s kind of disheartening to know that there are people who are suffering through immense harassment or degrading treatment in factories, offices, and other workplaces.

I always wondered why hierarchy has been such an important part of our human existance. Of course, I know in the natural world, the animal’s base instincts rule the “jungle”; the systems of hierarchies are all animals know; even if they are obviously not conscious of the kinds of community systems they have set up. But when it comes to humans, we have the capacity for intellectual empathy to a level unseen in any other species. We have the in-depth ability and intellectual power to change how we treat each other.

This leads me invariably to what I’ve been wondering for quite some time now. Past all of the fun, and sometimes serious, competitiveness that is good about our society, there is a side that is less spoken about. The side of ruthlessness. Being “disconnected” from each other has become the norm. It’s looked upon as being “cool” or “acceptable” to be cold and calculating towards those who are either different from ourself, or perceived to be from a lower socioeconomic level then us.

But the only thing that these off-the-wall traits lead me to believe, is that many people in our society are broken and weak beyond human conception of what pain looks, and truly feels, like. There are times that I tried to decipher why people are so incredibly mean; and I’ve come to a very stark conclusion.

Thus, the first conclusion I’ve arrived at; is that the person who is perpetuating deep hatred towards other human beings; is hurt beyond our humanly-known concept of pain. They also feel a lack of control in whatever situation they currently find themselves in. This is a very real problem and issue, due in part to the fact that many people face complex situations where they must choose to either follow their heart; or follow the rules given out to them.

There are times in a person’s life, when even the most difficult of scenarios pushes you between a hard place and a concrete wall.

That’s why I’ve never understood why people, since time immemorial, judge other people for their actions. I’ve come to theorize that anyone who judges someone else’s actions, is not in a position to act themselves.

Given the same opportunity; you and I might very well have gone down the same exact path.

Because the truth of our lives are actually quite simple to understand once you really take the time to sit down and think about why people would do different things in their given situations. We don’t always know what a person is truly going through; all we can do is surmise and “gossip”. But we’ll never truly know; and I believe people would rather not know the many hidden truths hiding in plain sight. It endows into their very soul a sense of deep-rooted fear, a sense of extreme hopelessness that we, the “peons” of the world, are cumulatively powerless and can do nothing to stop those who do hold positions of power.

It’s as though humans have long abandoned living life, and have rather resorted to going through the motions of “reacting” to events outside of their own personal jurisdictions.

We’ve effectively come to a place in life where the mass majority of us can only observe what happens to us; not being allowed to act on any of the injustices we see in the world, without harsh consequences imposed upon us if we were to do so.

In essence, we can do nothing about changing the way things are currently run. But of course, even if we did try and attempt to make any real change, power has a funny way of rearing it’s ugly head. What I’m saying is this: even if we were to replace every single person in power through some kind of transition program; the new people who would eventually transition into their positions; would merely start to change themselves into the very beasts we tried to ward away.

Thus, we’ve come to another contradiction of life. Having power for too long of a time, in any form of it’s manifestations, will only lead to further corruption of that individual’s  body, mind, and soul. Due to the fact that most people aren’t willing to admit that power actually changes the way we as human beings think and process information.

The other type of person who is mean spirited, is on the opposite side of the spectrum. They’re the type of person who is in no position to act.

They are likely the product of overbearing parents or guardians, whether it be a father or mother. You see, like I stated before in my previous posts; life is full of contradictions. It can seem very strange to hear this; but being too “overbearing” on your child can have just as many negative effects as it has positives. Of course, you also don’t want to be so hard on your child that you completely cut all ties with them. But parenting, just like many other things, requires you find some semblance of “normality”. This is starkly different from “balance”.

What I mean by “normality”, is that you need to create your own family environment of what’s acceptable and “normal” for your child to grow up in. It might be difficult at first, because you instinctually want to take care of your child’s ever whim. But by being overbearing, you are guaranteeing you’re child to a life of pain and suffering beyond what humans already endure through. You are, in effect, disabling your child from becoming the adult they need to be as a grown human being in order to survive out there in our still beautiful world. The world they would live is is only shaped by the childhood you give them. Once you understand that your child will always find something to blame you for; you can begin to accept that you are in control of how you parent your child. You have the reign to let them grow, to let them fail while they’re still young and naive. Only then will they begin to understand the importance of “getting back up” after a hard fall.

If you aren’t allowing them to “fail” (or fall, both literally and metaphorically), then your child won’t be ready for the different realities of the world. Without failure, there is no growth.

In truth, we will never fully satisfy every single person’s needs and wants out of a single society. Thus, what we can do in order to strive towards a little bit more of a peaceful existence; is to begin finding people we connect with the most, and sticking with them. That’s our best bet of making our own societies worth living in.

But you see, we come around again to another contradiction of life for a third time in this post. We must realize that leading this kind of life will invariably lead to the concept of “others” to intensify even further. Thus, we will see races divided to levels of existence long forgotten. There’s no humanly way to fully encompass the full scope and depth of injustices we as humans face; but that is what makes the experience of life such a thrill and such a tragedy as well.

If you take anything away from this post, I would want it to be for you to be able to empower yourself by understanding that you still hold some power in your hands. You can still change your fate and future. You just need a fresh start, or a new environment. If you have the means to, I would even say you should try your luck in a different town, city, or even country.

By “freeing yourself”, you begin to give yourself the gift of broader knowledge about your life, about other people’s lives, and about the world in general. There is a deepening sense of grander to life. Once you begin to force your way through all the lies, deception, and crap; it begins to look brighter as you strive to meet new people, connect with others outside of your comfort zone, and understand that not every single person you meet will have genuine intentions to become your ally or friend.

There are so many topics that I can delve deeper into, but for today, I think this is a good place as ever to stop and really reflect upon the differences between our lives. There are always possibilities to have change occur in our daily lives, and the best way to begin, is by taking that leap of faith into the unknown abyss.

Who knows what you’ll discover in your own life story…

Philosophical Journey (Part 2)

Hello everyone, it’s R.S. Noel here with another post. I first wanted to start off by saying thank you to all of my new followers; I’ve been reading many of your interesting articles over the past few days, and it’s inspired me to let go of some of the small biting fear still lingering inside of me. Over the next following years, I want to share with all of you the reflection of our shared world and reality.

Since time immemorial, humans have strived for survival. We’ve strived for a life worth fighting for, a life worth experiencing. Many-a-times, our ancestors failed. Other times though, they’ve succeeded beyond our wildest dreams. But what defines success? In fact, I realized my definition of success may very well in fact be largely different from the definition of success society has thrust upon us.

To me, success is defined as achieving some form or level of enlightenment in your own personal life. Once a person has achieved this general sense of acceptance and happiness, their life truly begins to flourish in ways indescribable in any human words. It’s as though the adventure of a lifetime has just begun, and you suddenly find yourself aboard the ship embarking on this esoteric and mysterious journey. It’s as though the thrill of the unknown no longer scares you. More importantly, you begin to change without even realizing it at first glance.

There are so many unheard secrets, unattended emotions, and unfulfilled desires surrounding us in our daily lives. It’s a silent cry to live a life worth living and experiencing. Though my societal life may not be up-to-par with what our human civilization may deem as “successful”, my personal life has flourished immensely; and I’ve come to thank God for giving me this very specific and particular life.

The true meaning of life? It’s simply to enjoy the company of your loved ones, your friends, and the many new people you may very well meet throughout your lifetime.

It really is as simple as this. Nothing else should ever get in the way of you and your loved ones. Life holds so much more meaning and depth when you begin to shed away the layers and layers of lies and deception our modern-day society has spoon-fed us since birth. Life is so truly beautiful and tragic, and it would be a shame to not be able to experience all of this in it’s entirety.

My heart races every time I write, my mind tinkers and moves with the waves of emotions and logic like an ocean long-forgotten. I swim deep within the ether of life and death, finding myself on the very fine and thin line between this world and the next. Philosophy is this experience, and so much more. It is Truth, it is the acknowledgement of The Other, it is the acceptance of indifferences, and moreover, philosophy is the very definition of madness.

It’s grander than any modern-day drama or play, and it’s more real than any of the false idols the mainstream media tries to forcibly shove down our throats.

There’s a real sense of beauty in the sadness as well, but moreover, there’s a definitive grace and alluring aroma to joy. Both of these combined create quite the life worth experiencing. It helps to shape your consciousness to better understand the truths, lies, and everything in-between. It helps you to secretly know when someone is lying to you, it helps you in times when you recognize genuine intent, and it can certainly help you when you feel uncertain.

Trust your gut instinct, it’s there for a reason.

We cannot fail, because there is no such thing as failing. Failing is defined only in society. In the natural world, you can never fail, because you will always try your hardest and damnedest.

It’s grit that gets us through the tough times, it’s a sense of morality of what we see as right or wrong which creates our environment. Don’t forget the depths of your love either, for that is the energy source of all creations and great things. That is the only force in the whole universe that is uniquely human. It is something even the darkest of nights could never take away; for its’ flames burn eternal. As long as humans exist, it will always burn.

We live for our loved ones, we live for our hobbies and charity-work. We live for the days of great joy and great sorrow. We live for the songs of storytelling. Our lives our defined not by what we say, but by what we do.

Heart of passion and agony is what makes life worth living. It creates an experience of grander and specialty. It fosters the deep drive within all of us to create a story and carve out a path that will never again be walked or experienced. No one knows the thoughts that swirl in your mind at night, for your life is yours alone.

And even though we may die alone, we create memories together. This has always comforted me, it has always reminded me that even enemies make great companions when death has met you halfway.

Think of all of the times you may have felt yourself question the validity of your life. Think back to all of the days you questioned why you’re still alive. If you can remember as far back as possible; think back to those happier days of when you felt truly alive and well.

Those thoughts, memories, and emotions you felt will never die out. Those are your creations alone, and nobody can ever take that away from you, no matter how much they may hate or despise you.

I know the road ahead of me is one riddled in pain, suffering, and great unknown. But I’ve come to accept this reality. I forgive any hatred, any such malice, and any misunderstandings that may arise. I’ll do whatever it takes to make a future where humans are the main concern – not automations, not profits generated from corporations, and certainly, not those who would wish harm on others.

My end-goal in life? That will remain a secret until the day I die. But what I will say; is that I hope it’s not too late. I hope this post has reminded you, in some small or large way, that you still have a duty to fulfill as a human being. You are still needed here on Earth, even if it’s to keep you loved ones company. You can’t back down, not now. For our lives, in death, hold no more meaning then the darkness of the universe. But in life, we can create such catastrophic change that nothing in the world could ever be prepared for the healing, comfort, and truth you bring along. You have your whole life to change the world; and even if your older, as long as your still alive and breathing, you haven’t failed.

Make amends with your past, move onto a more adventurous future, and always remember, that your heart, your passion, and your love will be cherished until the ends of time itself. For love is a human emotion, and no matter how vast or wide the universe is, nothing can ever eradicate or swallow that truth.

Forever in Your Debt,

R.S. Noel
