Mythos of Azernos (Poetics 2)

Happy New Years everyone! 2021, will be a better year for sure – just you wait and see!

I know it’s been a while since I last posted on my blog/website, but I wanted to let you all know that by the end of January I’ll be submitting my synopsis and query letter for my debut Fantasy/Science Fiction novel – Arcanim: Journey of the Foretold Souls.

The cool part? The UK literary agency I’ll be submitting it to has the same team that helped J.K. Rowling with her Harry Potter series. Whether they see my submission this month or next; I know I’ve started down a path that will lead to some exciting memories to come!

In the meantime, here’s an unrelated short story I’ve been working to the follow-up of Mythos of Azernos (Poetics 1). I wanted to share this with you since I know the new year brings about both exciting and exhilarating unforeseen changes for everyone!

Also, if you haven’t read Mythos of Azernos (Poetics 1), you may click anywhere on this sentence to go check that out first!

Without further ado, here’s Poetics 2 from Mythos of Azernos

Poetics 2 (pulled from Mythos of Azernos)

“Has the deed been done?”

“Yes, undoubtedly so.”

“Well then; on this day, the child has been blessed!”

“We can save the celebrations till a later time. For now, we must leave this place. Rome is crawling with suspicious activity; and I have reason to believe there are opposing gods and goddess amidst our presence.”

A mighty empire rested in front of the God of Fortuity. He; alongside the three companions at his side, were now about to make their timely exit. Amongst the trio of companions, were God of Insight, Goddess of Faithfulness, and God of Riddles.

Not surprisingly enough; and at this very moment, the three gods and single goddess were disguised as mortals.

God of Fortuity, otherwise known as Risk; was now disguised as an old and aging man. He was currently hunched over and using the support of a knurled wooden stick. As strange a sight as any, Risk ironically knew that he couldn’t take any chances on this day.

Goddess of Faithfulness, otherwise known as Love, was disguised as a mother.

At her side was God of Riddles, otherwise known as Illusion. He was disguised as a young boy who was throwing a small tantrum and acting a bit feral in nature.

The last of the four gods, was none other than God of Insight, otherwise known as Foresight. Foresight was a strange god, never truly speaking his mind; but always seemingly one-step ahead of all of the other gods and goddesses. Even outsmarting Judgment, God of Ultimate Authority and Rule.

As for Foresight’s disguise, he donned the appearance of a husky and ho-hum merchant who looked like he had better things to do with his time. Troubling enough, there was something a little off about Foresight at the moment, but none of the others could even sense it.

As the four of them walked briskly through the heavily crowded streets; Risk’s eyes gazed over at the wonder and spectacle of it all.

Large spiraling towers made of strange marble jutted out of the somewhat rocky and multi-layered landscape which the City of Rome laid upon. Colossal arches spanning a hundred yards in length, took the attention of any such passerby who happened to be unfettered by their personal matters or intriguing conversations.

But aside from all of the pandering and riff-raff of it all, there was a deepening sense of endangerment. Risk knew all too well that there were many gods and goddesses who were strongly opposed to blessing a half-mortal child with the Light of Blessings.

Before the four gods could make their clean exit, they had to get out of the City of Rome. They had to make sure they were out of the mortal’s eyesight before they could teleport back to Utopira. For the mortals could never witness such godly transpirations.

Of course, amidst their environment, there was in fact a trio of deathly looking elderly women waddling not too far off from them.

“We must follow them with haste!” The old woman with greying and tangled hair communicated this telepathically.

“Do not be deceived, Death. They are keen for certain.”

“Deception; why must you always be so…so…”

“Deceiving? Well, Dread, it is in my nature.”

The three goddesses were revealed to be none other than Deception, Death, and Dread – three goddesses which made quite a ruckus when push came to shove. As mismatched as the trio was; they had made a great team throughout the ages. They had been on countless adventures and journeys throughout the mortal’s world; and their shared history only further cemented the shallow, yet oddly strong, trust they had built together.

While the three hagged looking goddesses followed closely; the four gods they were tailing were coming up to a three-pronged street which veered into windy alleyways.

With a deepened sense of urgency, Love knew she had to act quickly. She was not blinded by the three disguised goddesses following closely behind

Grabbing Risk’s hand, Love beckoned for him to follow her silently.

Risk was about to shout out, but Love brought a delicate finger up to her mouth as she ran in the lead position.

Just as she did, she turned her head slightly sideways and saw it happen.

A group of otherwise uncaring city folk, began to holler and shout as black smog began to rise high into the sky.

At the base of the black smog, we’re the three old looking ladies.

Thinking quickly on her feet, Love contradicted herself as she shouted out loudly now to Insight and Illusion, “We’re being trailed by three witches! We’ll regroup at the usual spot!”

Insight nodded his head as he ran down the right-most alleyway.

Illusion stopped running all-together, as the child-looking god ran towards the unfolding scene.

Risk knew what Illusion would do, so he didn’t question as Love appeared more concerned at Illusion’s uncalled for action.

As Love stood somewhat dumbfounded, Risk hard-headily took charge of running forward while he maintained his grasp on her hand.

Love began to protest slightly as she turned her head fully behind to discourage Illusion, “What’s he thinking!? We can’t blow our cover now, not with war looming so close in our future!”

Risk tugged violently on Love’s arm – knowing full-well that gods and goddesses’ pain tolerance was great. “We can’t be concerned with his actions now, we must away from here as soon as possible. He knows what he’s doing, and I have faith in him. Don’t you?

Love remained silent now as she grunted in discomfort, “Whatever, we don’t have much of a choice at the moment.”

Unfortunately, as Risk and Love darted and wavered through the crowds of stalled and stunned looking on-lookers, the two would not know of Illusion’s exploits for a while longer. But that would be for another tale altogether.

As they ran endlessly through the different streets, thousands of people moved throughout the city today. It was a busy metropolis, full of all levels of material wealth. From the unimaginably rich, to the lowly dirt-poor; Rome’s people were yet still considered the most “civilized” amongst the Earth-bound human beings. Rivaling even some of the best Heaven-bound human settlements; the City of Rome’s people were especially magnificent specimens. Beautiful in physique and natural allure; they had a knack for talking true politics and tales worthy of anyone’s ears.

The City of Rome itself was a glorious and breathtaking place; as it had been so thousands and thousands of years ago. Long before the Age of Machines; Rome had also once been the ruling empire at one point in the past. Such is the workings of history, a cycle never-ending and ever-repeating.

Unlike their heretic neighbors – the Romans were a bountiful people. They prided themselves greatly on the art of war just as much as they did on the art of speech. They understood the difference between a solid victory and a clear defeat. There was no fooling a good Roman, for he who tried to trick one would certainly rue the day he was born unto this unfamiliar and strange world of Earth.

Finally reaching the rigged great plains outside of Rome, Love stopped to catch her breath as she turned her head slightly sideways to look behind them, “What are we going to do now…? The child is certainly in danger. We have little choice, Risk; we must report back to Judgment about this new development.”

Risk, who had raised his hands and placed them behind his head to help him catch his breath, shook his head, “No, that’s something we cannot do. Love, you know better then I that Judgment would condemn you, Riddle, and I. That would, at minimum, mean we’d get at least a century in confinement. I don’t know about you, but I’m looking to make the best of our immortal lives.”

As the two of them looked to each other with swirling thoughts silently shuffling about in their minds, a third unseen voice spoke up now.

“But alas, that kind of fate would be unnecessarily unkind. Neither of you have to make life so difficult.”

Turning his head behind Love; Risk could see a fully robed figure walking towards them.

Without even having seen the figure’s face, Risk could sense an overwhelming power simmering from within this newfound entity. It was doubtlessly a Goddess.

Love soon turned around as well as her golden hair fell across her shoulder. She eyed the Goddess with scrutinizing eyes, “Unveil yourself, Goddess. I don’t trust the words of any hidden ones.”

The figure did not move. She just stood in place as she remained silent.

Risk walked in front of Love, as he openly questioned this new Goddess. “We don’t have much time to waste; what do you want?”

Clearing her throat, the unknown Goddess spoke clearly again, “I prefer to keep my agenda and appearance hidden. But know that I mean no ill will towards the child. He must be protected, especially from the other Gods and Goddesses of our shared realm.”

Extending her hand in kind-gesture, the unknown Goddess lightly shook her head in distraught emotions, “Trust me when I say I just want an end to our discrimination and endless conflict of those half-breed Gods and Goddesses like myself.”

Risk looked to Love and the two seemed a bit shocked. Was this Goddess actually a Half-Goddess? If so, that means they were lied to about the state of affairs down below in the mortal’s realm.

As the Golden Sun of Day afar blazed brightly and descended down – allowing the God of Night to rule once more; Risk and Love knew this moment would change the course of “the child’s” life forevermore. Like the timeless never-ending wheel of fate, they had to make a move now or else be left with no option at all.

With startling conviction, Love moved passed Risk as she made the decision for the both of them, “Tell me, unnamed Half-Goddess; what is it you seek in return for helping us?”

A small chuckle came back from the unknown Half-Goddess, “Nothing, I just want to ensure that we Half-breeds have a fighting chance for the war to come.”

Risk grabbed Love’s arm as he protested, “Love…this is out of our jurisdiction. We cannot play favorites if a war is to break out. We’d be put on trial for certain.”

Love remained silent for a long time as she was halfway between staying by Risk’s side and moving towards this unknown Half-Goddess’ side.

But ultimately, Love did something unexpected.

Breaking away from Risk’s grasp, Love looked sternly at the Half-Goddess as she openly opposed her, “What’s your name? Perhaps we can help you make the case to Judgment. In fact, we may very well grant you an audience with him to plead your case.”

Smiling with a deep underlying sorrow, the once unnamed Goddess surprisingly revealed her identity now, “My name…my name is Nirvana. But unfortunately, I cannot take you up on your offer.”

Taking the robe off fully, the Half-Goddess revealed her physical form as well.

She was stunningly beautiful. With light green hair the color of Mother Nature’s greenery, she looked down in hidden shame now as her beautiful amethyst-colored eyes glanced to Love and Risk, “You must understand, my mother is the Goddess of this world. She would be very displeased to discover I still breath on this world.”

Love and Risk’s eyes grew greatly with hidden fascination as the Half-Goddess spoke her truth.

Like the moving hand of time though, the three of them would soon find themselves facing a different reality. But for now, the each stared at one another with their own stained histories hidden well beneath the surface of their physical forms.

A tragedy was soon to unfold – but on which end either of them would end-up on would be a great mystery for years to come…

Philosophical Journey (Part 2)

Hello everyone, it’s R.S. Noel here with another post. I first wanted to start off by saying thank you to all of my new followers; I’ve been reading many of your interesting articles over the past few days, and it’s inspired me to let go of some of the small biting fear still lingering inside of me. Over the next following years, I want to share with all of you the reflection of our shared world and reality.

Since time immemorial, humans have strived for survival. We’ve strived for a life worth fighting for, a life worth experiencing. Many-a-times, our ancestors failed. Other times though, they’ve succeeded beyond our wildest dreams. But what defines success? In fact, I realized my definition of success may very well in fact be largely different from the definition of success society has thrust upon us.

To me, success is defined as achieving some form or level of enlightenment in your own personal life. Once a person has achieved this general sense of acceptance and happiness, their life truly begins to flourish in ways indescribable in any human words. It’s as though the adventure of a lifetime has just begun, and you suddenly find yourself aboard the ship embarking on this esoteric and mysterious journey. It’s as though the thrill of the unknown no longer scares you. More importantly, you begin to change without even realizing it at first glance.

There are so many unheard secrets, unattended emotions, and unfulfilled desires surrounding us in our daily lives. It’s a silent cry to live a life worth living and experiencing. Though my societal life may not be up-to-par with what our human civilization may deem as “successful”, my personal life has flourished immensely; and I’ve come to thank God for giving me this very specific and particular life.

The true meaning of life? It’s simply to enjoy the company of your loved ones, your friends, and the many new people you may very well meet throughout your lifetime.

It really is as simple as this. Nothing else should ever get in the way of you and your loved ones. Life holds so much more meaning and depth when you begin to shed away the layers and layers of lies and deception our modern-day society has spoon-fed us since birth. Life is so truly beautiful and tragic, and it would be a shame to not be able to experience all of this in it’s entirety.

My heart races every time I write, my mind tinkers and moves with the waves of emotions and logic like an ocean long-forgotten. I swim deep within the ether of life and death, finding myself on the very fine and thin line between this world and the next. Philosophy is this experience, and so much more. It is Truth, it is the acknowledgement of The Other, it is the acceptance of indifferences, and moreover, philosophy is the very definition of madness.

It’s grander than any modern-day drama or play, and it’s more real than any of the false idols the mainstream media tries to forcibly shove down our throats.

There’s a real sense of beauty in the sadness as well, but moreover, there’s a definitive grace and alluring aroma to joy. Both of these combined create quite the life worth experiencing. It helps to shape your consciousness to better understand the truths, lies, and everything in-between. It helps you to secretly know when someone is lying to you, it helps you in times when you recognize genuine intent, and it can certainly help you when you feel uncertain.

Trust your gut instinct, it’s there for a reason.

We cannot fail, because there is no such thing as failing. Failing is defined only in society. In the natural world, you can never fail, because you will always try your hardest and damnedest.

It’s grit that gets us through the tough times, it’s a sense of morality of what we see as right or wrong which creates our environment. Don’t forget the depths of your love either, for that is the energy source of all creations and great things. That is the only force in the whole universe that is uniquely human. It is something even the darkest of nights could never take away; for its’ flames burn eternal. As long as humans exist, it will always burn.

We live for our loved ones, we live for our hobbies and charity-work. We live for the days of great joy and great sorrow. We live for the songs of storytelling. Our lives our defined not by what we say, but by what we do.

Heart of passion and agony is what makes life worth living. It creates an experience of grander and specialty. It fosters the deep drive within all of us to create a story and carve out a path that will never again be walked or experienced. No one knows the thoughts that swirl in your mind at night, for your life is yours alone.

And even though we may die alone, we create memories together. This has always comforted me, it has always reminded me that even enemies make great companions when death has met you halfway.

Think of all of the times you may have felt yourself question the validity of your life. Think back to all of the days you questioned why you’re still alive. If you can remember as far back as possible; think back to those happier days of when you felt truly alive and well.

Those thoughts, memories, and emotions you felt will never die out. Those are your creations alone, and nobody can ever take that away from you, no matter how much they may hate or despise you.

I know the road ahead of me is one riddled in pain, suffering, and great unknown. But I’ve come to accept this reality. I forgive any hatred, any such malice, and any misunderstandings that may arise. I’ll do whatever it takes to make a future where humans are the main concern – not automations, not profits generated from corporations, and certainly, not those who would wish harm on others.

My end-goal in life? That will remain a secret until the day I die. But what I will say; is that I hope it’s not too late. I hope this post has reminded you, in some small or large way, that you still have a duty to fulfill as a human being. You are still needed here on Earth, even if it’s to keep you loved ones company. You can’t back down, not now. For our lives, in death, hold no more meaning then the darkness of the universe. But in life, we can create such catastrophic change that nothing in the world could ever be prepared for the healing, comfort, and truth you bring along. You have your whole life to change the world; and even if your older, as long as your still alive and breathing, you haven’t failed.

Make amends with your past, move onto a more adventurous future, and always remember, that your heart, your passion, and your love will be cherished until the ends of time itself. For love is a human emotion, and no matter how vast or wide the universe is, nothing can ever eradicate or swallow that truth.

Philosophical Journey (Part 1)

Hello everyone, it’s me R.S. Noel coming to you with another post; and today I’ll be talking about the true meaning of life. It’s a complex answer, but if you read through this entire post, you’ll understand what it comes down to.

All of our lives, in some way or another, are interlaced into each other’s existence.

Think about this for a moment:

Have you ever wondered why you feel good whenever you’re with the ones you love?

Or on the flip side, if you don’t have anyone in your personal life; have you wondered why you’re so repelled by those who are; in your opinion, too happy?

Well, for the first statement; the answer is quite clear. There are two reasons for this

The reason you’re strongly attracted to your loved ones (or even those around you who you associate with), is because of how they make you feel. Your brain translates the emotions you feel, and in turn, the neurons in our brain transmits messages to the part of our brain which houses our emotional cortex. We are, by design or by freak accident, compelled to be close to our loved ones because of the way they make us feel about ourselves.

True love is the opposite. Let me explain.

With true love, whenever we witness our loved one having a happy moment, we then become happy ourselves. Without a doubt, this is what true love is comprised of.

On the other side, whenever you don’t want anyone to get “too close” to you, emotionally speaking, then you are most likely wounded from a past experience in your life which has left your soul temporarily disfigured.

The strange part of this, is that during our everyday interactions, we often don’t put much “soul” into the interactions we have with others; and this is obviously because we can’t trust strangers.

So what I’m talking about, is whenever you’ve foster a friendship with another person, and you suddenly feel as though you don’t want to hang out with them anymore, or you just don’t want to deal with hearing them. This is society’s fault, in many regards; but in the end, it really is your own choice in how you react to this feeling of dissociation. Society, since the beginning of time, has always been a massive contradiction.

The only time we truly come together, is in times of struggle and hardship. This creates and fosters a strong bond between those who are a part of such a community. Thus, in turn, any “outsiders” from that moment onward, are then seen as an “invader” into this dynamic.

Thus, in modern society, to no one’s fault, we’ve all become dissociated from one another due to the competitive nature of life (not just capitalism; sure it intensifies this truth of life greatly, but in reality, life has always been cold, ruthless, and a never-ending struggle when seen from our human perspective).

In fact, life itself, when viewed outside of our own personal lives, is pointless. And I don’t just mean pointless in the way a young adult might see it. No, I mean pointless in the manner that every single aspect of our societal lives are tangibly pointless. True life, which is outside of society’s safe and comforting boundaries, is where the meaning hides. But then again, life outside the boundaries of comforts and lies is a harsh reality. Of course, with every negative aspect, comes a positive outcome as well.

Life, when lived “naturally” gives us a stimulating reason to live. Without this stimulating aspect of life, our human existence can seem “pointless”. Yet without the safety and comfort of society, life is feral, fully vicious, and unkind to levels unknown by many of us as humans living in the modern “First World” countries.

So in many probabilities, life in society is likely the better of two evils. The only downside to society, is that most people don’t usually actively feel the need to participate in it. This is a side affect of living in a “profits first” business-environment. Due to this kind of existence, humans have undoubtedly made life more complicated than it already is. Because of the “inefficiencies” of human effort in workplaces, we have degraded ourselves and our fellow brothers and sisters to mere “numbers”. We’re all just seen as algorithms, statistics; data. All of us waiting our turn in a line that leads to small gratification and more suffering in the end.

But the truth is, the alternative is scarier. For some people though, that alternative is their only way out; it’s their only comfort in a society which no longer looks out for their basic needs as human beings.

This is where my own personal experience comes into play into the narrative of this truth and reality. During darker times in my young adult life, I was faced with this dilemma and tried with my best efforts to try and find a way to solve this puzzle we as human beings have created for our children, for our working-class people, and for our elderly. The truth that I’ve found, is one which I don’t think I’ll ever share in the fear that it will crush any such hope or inspiration to see change occur in our world, even at a micro-level.

Moving back to the topic at hand; individually, when we find ourselves in our most vulnerable or private moments with ourselves, we find that life has much more meaning when we begin to foster our imagination. That’s the trick of life; it’s all about creating your own personal world in your mind which makes you feel confident and assured about yourself. In turn, it makes you not care so much what negative people have to say to you.

Anyways, I want to end today’s post here before I go on any further. I have a lot of other topics which I’ll be delving into, but for now, I think this should be a good spot to end.

Remember to always trust your gut instinct, and never doubt your intuition whenever you’re in doubt about something, someone, or anything that may seem a bit off. Life’s full of surprises, twists, turns, and adventures – so make the best of it!

The Meaning of Life (A Poem)

The Meaning of Life

For every breathe of life, there is a sigh of death.

For every act of kindness, there is an act of hatred.

For every moment of joy, there is one of sorrow.

For every beginning, there is an end.

The meaning of life encompasses these elements of reality. There’s a special sort of ebb-and-flow to the process. Something so ordinary at first glance; rapidly transitions to something so incredibly phantasmal and fantastical.

As our lives are ever weighed by the shifting times both ahead of us and behind us; our present-moment is ever morphing to adapt to the unseen trials and tribulations surrounding us.

Change is in the air, ever omnipotent and ever-present. Can you not feel it?

In your very bones, in your very soul and being. There’s something strange coming this way. And yet…there is also a hidden blessing in all of the chaos to ensue. A calling only you can answer.

It’s the call of the human experience.

When the world is faced with the coming dark hour, the cycle is preparing to start anew once more. As history repeats itself, so do we as a people.

For all of our glory and horrors, for all of our accomplishments and shame, and for all of our shared truths and deceptions – there is one constant reality to the universe around us.

Nothing ever stays the same.

Change is brewing.

A sense of immediate danger emits.

A silent hope bubbles above the surface.

Will you survive? Will I survive? What will become of our future?

Such are the questions of two love-birds who glide together for one last time before the currents of wind change their course forevermore. Even at this strange time in our world’s history – it is evident enough that history truly does repeat itself. Life for us has always been plagued with war and peacetime. Ever like a pendulum gliding back-and-forth ever so slowly.

Time is shifting.

You will be faced with many obstacles that will test everything you thought you stood for. You will begin to understand and see the world through new eyes. You’ll morph into a new person altogether, not familiar with the person you see from your reflection. Just like a pendulum too, you’ll eventually swing back to your old self. But for now, life is calling upon a darker self. A much more adaptable self.

Though the end is always inevitable, how will you change the world? For your future is just beyond the horizon…

Two Different People; Two Separate Journeys

This piece was inspired by a recent whirlwind of events related to immense inner-growth. Without further delay, let me share a piece of my soul with you.

Two Different People; Two Separate Journeys

Down by the knurled tree, right of the curved stone wall, and left of the beach-sand; stand two very different men on two separate and unlikely journeys.

One is hardworking, dedicated to achieving greatness, and prepared for the unknown.

The other one, is carefree, unassuming and full of excitement and innocent joy.

But both men stare out towards the same horizon, as their life is yet on the cusp of a whirlwind of events.

The hardworking man is ready for anything, ready for nothing, and ready for all-the-in-between.

He’s prepared; and yet he also knows that nothing will truly prepare him for what is to come next.

The unmotivated man is ready to enjoy whatever journey life throws his way. In a sense, this man is more prepared for the vast unknown than the hardworking man.

That’s the excitement of life, not knowing if one is destined for greatness or if one is destined for dullness.

For that is the big hidden secret of life. Truth be told, there is no such thing as failure. There is only greatness and dullness.

Just as much as the hardworking man may be focused to succeed; the unmotivated man may very well be the one who is thrust into greatness. He has no time to prepare for such change. He knows not how to readjust his life.

Just as that very same hardworking man has made it his life’s goal to become the lead-man of this epic lore; the other man has yet to realize that the strange workings of life have gifted him with all of the worldly secrets he needs to fulfill such a magical destiny.

For that is what the hardworking man doesn’t fully understand.

Life is not about him, or her, or even them. It is not about how well you prepare yourself with education and indoctrination. No, it is about how well you prepare your mind, heart, and soul.

It’s about knowing when to make a move to benefit not only yourself, but those around you.

It’s about understanding that some days will be filled with treachery, lies, deceit, and deception.

It’s about accepting love and compassion into your heart even when your inner-life is filled with turmoil and rage.

The light of truth is one in which is basked in dark days.

The true light, is that in which we cannot see.

It is the light in which you and I are forever blind to; but can feel through divine glimpses and visions:

Ray of hope; wash away my woes.

Beautiful song-birds; mince my ordinary life with beautiful chimes.

Ocean breeze, come and engulf me in the unheard secrets and truths that rest within your depths.

In the depths of the unknown, I found hope.

In the calamity of the end-days, I began to feel a gusto of confidence and inner-strength I never knew existed in my soul.

In the singular sound of your distant voice, I found peace and solace once again. For in this moment of unique silence – I knew I wasn’t truly alone.

24 Years.

(song which inspired this post; click anywhere on this sentence to listen to track).

24 Years.

24 years and I’ve finally “figured it out”.

I’ve finally uncovered the “secret of life”.

You see; I tried with all of my might to quell the mounting roar in my soul.

I tried with all of my inner-power to calm the unchained flames which burned me up from inside, every night for the past 24 years.

I tried with all of my knowledge and creativity, to understand those human beings who have chosen to be inconsiderate and dismissive of others.

I tried to fight with everything I had in me, to understand what would possess one soul to irrevocably harm another.

I tried and waited with all of the worldly patience inside of me, to see why you and I have been put against each other, in this society we call “home”; in order to fight each other to the death.

I’ve tried, and tried,….and I’ve tried.

And with all of this waiting around I’ve been doing for the last 24 years, I’ve come to only one simple conclusion.

You must become the thing you so despise.

The reason for this?

Put simply: no matter what your goals, aspirations, or inner-drives are; you will achieve none of it if you stand idly by.

If you don’t move forward, even when everyone around you has lost hope in you, and even when everyone around you is constantly trying to shove you back down- the only thing that matters is that you never give up on yourself.

Fuck all the times someone has told you that you would amount to “absolutely nothing”.

Fuck the people who try and ruin you.

Fuck society and what is expected of you.

But when everything is said-and-done, what matters the most, is that you shove them back. You tell them that they’ve amounted to “nothing”. Most importantly, and above all else, you must take back your power by accepting the harsh reality that you must start at rock-bottom again.

For even though you have become so familiar with rock-bottom, you haven’t truly experienced the bottom until you’ve been shunned away, have been rejected by society, and have been left for dead at the corner of “Your Future” and “Your Past”.

So what does this all mean?

We must realize that our past pains and current corruptions are the only forces fueling our existence. It is what keeps us going forward, whether we realize it or not.

We are walking and talking contradictions.

But the irony of it all; is that, this is how we must be in order to survive in this jungle we call societal life. We cannot show our true selves with 100% accuracy; for if we did, we would be pushed aside for fake friends, fake allies, and fake realities. We cannot show our humanity, for we will just as quickly be labeled as “inaccurate, naïve, stupid, childish, and worthless”.

After all, that’s what any modernized society would want; right? For every single person to turn into a heartless creature of the night. To go against our moral judgments and to make decisions irrationally and without justified cause. To accuse people without concrete fact. To point fingers at our enemies in the hopes they perish away. To treat those who are not in positions of power; like they are the very dirt we walk upon.

Don’t try and tell me otherwise, for I know the truth now that I’ve lived through these cold experiences during the 24 years of my existence so far.

This reality we have created for each other is one wrought in drought. It’s one spun in which we can no longer be humane. It’s one transfixed in which the end days have arrived.

In comparison to the truth of our existence; we must present ourselves opposite of that truth. We must show to the world that we have all the money in the world; that we own multiple properties, that we have conquered the world by being cruel, mean-spirited, and full of vengeance and fury.

When in reality, we are just one paycheck away from complete destitution and destruction. When in reality, we are lonely beyond any child’s comprehension. When in reality, we are as fragile as the rose which sways alongside the rhythm of the winds.

We are, after all, human.

24 years down this road; and this is what I’ve realized after all this time.

Transformation

(Inspiration for this poetic piece, click me to listen to song)

Transformation

I feel myself disconnecting from who I am.

Who I am….

Who I…………..was?

I’m beginning to wonder: what’s wrong with me?

Why am I losing pieces of myself?

Why are those pieces floating out of my consciousness like a stream of water flowing downstream at an unimaginably blinding speed?

I see you.

I…..saw you?

I’m beginning to wonder if I’m starting to see you or if I’m beginning to see…….my own reflection?

Like a kaleidoscope of dizzying colors, my once dreary eyes are beginning to see the faint lights of ever-changing fates.

To see the potential of you and I. To feel the winds of unspoken truths caress my face with faulty lies.

I’ve begun to speak in my dreams of feverish nightmares borne of an indifference to what’s going on in our shared world.

I’ve begun to distance myself from who we are meant to be.

I’ve broken our promise.

I’m sorry.

I’m so incredibly sorry.

I feel like I failed who I was meant to be.

And yet…

Yet my future is bright.

What does that even mean?

Why do we cherish those who have “made it”?

One day.

One day, I swear on my very soul.

I will live my truth.

I will change this world, even if for just a flash of a moment.

I will change the collective consciousness of our society for just a second in history.

I will defend the honor of what it means to truly survive and thrive in this world, I will remind myself of why I still breathe.

No doubt the best of humanity dies young; for the old and aging continue to live and support this world full of deception and abuse. I should know, I’m becoming such a thing. Such a creature of the night.

Why haven’t I ended it all for myself?

I don’t feel suicidal. That’s likely the reason why. But still…why am I playing along with this game?

I can’t stop myself either. I’m filled with determination unlike anything of this world. But…why? Why am I so competitive? Why am I so determined? Even though I don’t wish to be, I just am?

Confusing thoughts spiral in my mind as a wave of over-confidence washes over me…or is it doubt?

But I’m not indecisive; though I wish I was at this moment.

I wish I was more confused than I’m playing it out to be.

I wish I could come up with some excuse; some tainted truth.

Thoughts intertwined with hallowed emotions. I don’t actually feel anything at this moment. I’ve become numb. And yet, my heart still beats? It beats with life, with the ever-pulsing rhythm of life.

Why has our world succumb to such devastation and derelict woes?

Why, why, why, why, why, why.

Our voices are drowned out, our opinions are non-existent, and our stories will forever be untold.

The truth will forever glimmer in the moonlit sky like a long-forgotten wish. The truth will flicker as a lone candle does in the dead of night. The truth will be unseen like the silent bird which has no voice to sing. The truth will exist, but only for itself alone. It will never be comforted, never be hugged with delight or cherished for its unique characteristics. It will never be able to shine so brightly that the sun, and the moon, and all the stars are meaningless to the bountiful life on Earth.

The truth will forever remain unclaimed. Forever untouched and despised. For truth brings inconvenience. It fosters a sense of hostility between two souls. It reminds all of us of our inevitable death. It reminds us that life is so precious; yet we are wasting it away day-in-and-day-out by working away at a job which holds no meaning to our true community; our true loved-ones.

The truth is harsh.

It is cruel and cold.

Like the nights of cold-sweat drenching your body; it is unforgiving and relentless. Like the days full of addiction and of growing numbness to life; rejection of truth brings about the calamity of your very existence. Like the darkening sky full of dread, or the mysterious secrets veraciously biting away at your soul as you try and reason and bargain with darker realities. Truth untouched is like a baby without her mother. It is like an unheard cry in the middle of nowhere. It is like the blood-thirsty eyes of a feral creature ready to devour it’s prey.

It is like the breaking of glass, as the world comes shattering down upon the weight of our lies.

But…

Once acknowledge and accepted; truth transforms it’s once ugly disguise into a beautiful soul.

Dancing in the light of day, truth can once again show us the way to salvation and holiness.

It can help us become worthy of being named children of goodness. Children of the righteous path – even if it isn’t always the easiest one.

Truth……

Truth can set us free again.

A Truth Unspoken

Hey everyone, it’s R.S. Noel here hoping you had a fantastic New Year’s Day! Just a couple of small updates before today’s post (or re-post as it were). I’ll be in school throughout January and the first week of February taking my Economics 102 class and my Accounting 120 course as well. The winter semester begins on January 8th and ends on February 8th. It’ll be an intensive 1-month long semester (but I’ve done it 3 times before, twice during the winter semester, and once in the summer semester). Moreover, I’ll be working only weekends at my job – so that time will likely be when I get to upload some of my newer posts. For now, however, I should still be able to upload at least 2-4 posts a week (depending on the severity of the projects in college and what not).

And if you haven’t already checked out my revamped YouTube channel, here’s a link to view some of my recent uploads (I mainly upload compilations of funny videos on the internet, so if you’re in need of a good ol’ laugh, come check it out :).

With that stated, I wanted to share this post I had uploaded a while back. I decided to repost it because I felt like it was relevant to the times we live in. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!:

I feel myself steadily slipping into the abyss of life. It’s a great feeling really, I feel as though I’ve finally begun to see people for who they really are; for both the positives and negatives. It’s as though there’s a whole other world out there with endless possibilities, yet it’s a hidden realm. For the reality of our lives, are that we’re faced with adversity and obstacles at every turn. It’s a world riddled with riddles and marred with the inevitability of the world’s reality.

You see, there are numerous ways a person’s day could go. The probability that it could all end today is a very real reality. Yet that’s what makes life so enticing and enthralling, the rush and thrill of the chase, of the unknown variables lurking and hiding just beyond the bend. It’s one of the greatest things about life. There’s a sort of maddening sense of things to come, yet nothing ever does come. It’s a feeling of a new day arriving, and it fact, that new day does finally arrive – but not the way you would have expected it to.

There are times in which I wonder if life really is all about the small details. Perhaps it is, perhaps I’ve been living life all-wrong. I’ve always looked for the bigger picture, the grand opportunity to grasp a hold of something in which I know very well could be out of my humanly grasp. Yet I reach out to it nevertheless; knowing full well the risks and possibilities of it all coming down.

Should we pick the pieces up? The pieces of our silently broken lives? Or, should we recreate a new self, in which we can try and attempt to fill the void of nothingness with senseless materialistic items which will never satisfy our true wants and needs in life. Of course I can go on and on, but I think it’s better to just assume that there are worse fates out there. Fates in which people must face their lives with humiliation and defeat, fates in which there are no possibilities for hope to grow again. It’s both a beautiful and cruel world. When one looks closer upon a second glance, they see the world for the first time ever.

So I’ll end with this: whatever you decide to do with your life, do it with full knowledge that you’re taking a leap of faith in risking it all. Do it wholeheartedly, and know that you won’t come out of this unscathed. Life has too many variables to consider after all, but if you consider them for too long, you’ll never get to living life.

An Open Letter to the Universe

Hello world, it’s R.S. Noel just checking-in to see how things are going in the world currently.

I wonder…why are there so many possibilities? Why is there ab endless array of choices to choose from? There’s a bottomless list of items, destinations, and places I’ve yet to venture to – because, I’ve been so enraptured by the things I still feel are necessary to do before I ever get to that point in life. I’ve started so many things recently in my life, and oddly enough; I don’t feel overwhelmed this time around. I actually feel productive and ready to take on the world with all of its painful and glorious moments.

Feeling productive is certainly not the same as being enslaved by our limitless efforts to  find some semblance of peace in our lives; or is it? There are people who are less fortunate then me, and then, there are many other people who are more fortunate then us. I wonder, what is our lot in this life? To toil away for the rest of our days, to break our bodies down over time due to the natural progression of life? Certainly there is something more out there, or is there…?

Maybe it really is all about perspective. Maybe it truly does come down to “in the eye of the beholder.” Whatever each of us, on an individual level, seeks out in life will depend greatly on our secret wishes, dreams, and desires.

But then, there are those moments. Ah yes, those moments of complete and utter bewilderment, confusion, and delusion. I begin to feel myself slowly drifting off into nothingness, barely holding onto the single metaphorical piece of wood which accompanies me down this stream which leads to the vast unknown.

Oddly enough; in this moment of immense uncertainty, I feel more connected with the world and the universe then I have ever felt before. In this moment of absolute distortion and chaos, I see the world. I see what is and what was. I see the beauty of friendship and camaraderie grow like a wild rose in the plains of heaven. I see the injustice and cruelty of cold, callous hearts, and all of the injustices thrown onto the people of this physical world. I see the lines of society blur between the lines of humanity, for better and for worse. I see marriage between two souls forever intertwined in a moment of inescapable blessings and curses. I see the mingling of darkness veiled within the expanse of light. I see the truth, no matter the mood.

So I say on this finite note, the many esoteric words no other human dares speak.

Why are you willingly allowing the world to change who you are? Who are you even? You should be changing the world, not the other way around. There are no excuses, there are no good reasons. You must steady your hand and stand tall for what you believe in. Take your convictions and grow a garden of life, not of evil. Don’t be afraid of the darkness either, for both light and dark create the equilibrium of life. Always remember however, to tread carefully.

Lest you get lost in the void of no-return. Then, and only then, will you forever lose yourself within the abysmal and unfamiliar darkness of surreal realities…

Gaining New Perspectives in Life

When you write, a lot of the times there are many different angles to look at any given situation you’re focused on. Whether you’re writing a non-fiction or fiction book, you’ll usually find yourself wondering which way is the best manner in which to start or view your topic of choice. It’s always important to see something from multiple viewpoints, you never want to look at a piece of writing and wonder what the purpose behind it is.

Yet this post isn’t about writing. No, it’s about the new perspectives gained through being more aware of your environment (both imagined and real).

Some of the best methods of gaining a new perspective in your life is to imagine what your own experience would be like in a different person’s position. Better yet, you can also imagine what the world must feel like on a daily basis. Just imagine what the life of a mouse must be like. Or even how the sound of a clock ticks while an empty house remains silent amidst a time of vast uncertainty. The possibilities are endless with this type of thinking.

There’s no end to creativity, the only limit is yourself. Never be too afraid, always question the validity of a person, a situation, or even the state of our world. The more you start to question, the more you begin to realize that everything in life is permitted. With this viewpoint, you can better understand a lot of the current world affairs in today’s globalized society.

A defining moment in any person’s life, is characterized by a sense of awakening, or even a sense of understanding herself/himself in the world and where they stand in it. It can be a truly humbling, and sometimes even terrifying, realization when you begin to understand and come to terms with a lot of the realities of our existence and what it even means to be human in this ever-changing environment. To grasp your own identity is the single best thing you can ever do, not only for yourself, but for those around you who truly love you and cherish you for who you are as a human being in the world.

On a more transparent note, I want to let you know, that perspective also helps you to heighten your sense of awareness of the crueler fates amidst our globalized world. Because in some manner, you will realize that even if you’re just one person in a sea of others, you can change the world (even if it is at a micro-level, it’s still very significant in the grander scheme of life). Your actions, especially during times of hardship and uncertainty in your society, can help to further strengthen the bonds and connections you have with those around you.

Perspective of different people, different life-forms, and different ideologies, is probably the best tool to have if you are a writer. You’re able to understand so many otherwise mysterious concepts in mainstream society. You’re able to better analyze why something happened, and the many different things that caused it.

It’s kind of like being a detective, but the only thing is, no one in the entire world knows you’re paying attention.

If you choose to be naïve or willingly ignorant, I cannot judge you. I used to judge people on being ignorant, back when I was a teenager. But now that I’m an adult, I’ve come to understand that everything (and I mean everything) has a reason for being the way it is; and those things don’t necessarily change as quickly as they should. Some things can stay the “same” for a very, very long time. Inevitably, however, things do change. Whether it be in minutes, hours, days, months, years, centuries, or a millennia – everything eventually succumbs to change.

I could go on, but my time is limited today. I have a lot of work to do, and so little time to finish it. If anything, I’ll leave you with one simple thought: hold the deepest parts of yourself close to your soul, but also let the world see a part of who you truly are. In this way, you can better build your own personality through the different tribulations and trials out there in our shared environment.

After all, we show only the parts of ourselves which we want the world to see. Ultimately, this is what makes perspective so fascinating and intriguing. Different perspectives are the only hidden truth worth discovering in this estranged and chaotic world.
