Week 4: Transition to New Position and Little Victory with Social Media!

Good morning, good afternoon and/or good evening!

This post is meant for last week (week of 09/30/19 – 10/06/19)!

The last couple of days have been very interesting indeed. I resigned from my position at the job that paid me around $60,000/year – and took on a similar job at another company that will pay about $55,000/year (with more potential for gaining even more experience as not only an Accounts Receivable Specialist/Analyst, but as an Accounts Payable Specialist as well).

Truth be told, I was not the right fit at the last place I worked at. It was a matter of false expectations versus the reality of the role itself. It was more than just an Accounts Receivable role. It was also a Collection Manager role, meaning, I was responsible – directly – for the portfolios, I was assigned to. It wasn’t just about reducing the AR balance, but moreover, it was about analyzing and doing much deeper reconciling then what I was used it before. However, with that said, I am grateful for the experience, as it has taught me a whole lot more about management and how to handle people and conducting meetings as well (which was a recurring reality in that role).

I’m excited to embark on this new journey in my professional career now.

And as that is going on, a parallel reality is also coming into fruition.

Needless to say, I tested out my social media experiment on TikTok and it was – considering I was going in without any marketing support or advantage – a success! I learned a couple important tools and connectivity aspects to social media as a whole, and have come to realize that I will be using all of my social media platforms as best as I can to maximize my exposure across the different parts on the Internet. I have a couple props coming to my place, and once the last one comes through, I will begin uploading regularly on TikTok (and promote my other social media accounts as well).

Friday will be my first day at my new job and position; since it will be training all day and getting me integrated into the new software/programs I’ll be using on a daily basis.

These posts, as I realize, are relatively short – and I’m ok with that. I’ll be uploading the next one as soon as I can (but no promises, as we have already seen I’ve posted late twice already)! Looking forward to what the future has in store for not only me but for the whole world as well. There’s no denying that life is truly what we all make of it, and the journey is what counts at the end – not the finish line.

As tradition would have it with these personal weekly posts, here is my favorite quote of the week:

“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.” ―Harriet Beecher Stowe
