Online Journal (Entry #002)

Hey everyone, it’s R.S. Noel with another post. For today’s Online Journal Entry, I’ll be talking about my change of employment and also what I’ve been working on for the last 14 years!

To begin, I’ve recently shifted gears in my work-life. I used to work at Chipotle, but now I work for a South Korean coffee shop known as “Reborn Cafe” here in SoCal. I went to my first board meeting with the higher-ups, and it went very well! The owners of Reborn Cafe also own Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt, which is BIG here in SoCal. I was exceptionally lucky to land this position, due to the fact that the store I will be working for will have their grand opening in 2 weeks from today (and moreover because this is their 2nd store location ever, with talks of opening 10 more locations within the next 10 years!). Not to mention the store I’ll be working for is only a 4-5 minute drive from my house. So to say I am incredibly lucky and fortunate would be a vast understatement.

Hopefully once I’m done with my B.S. in Business Administration, I can become a Store Manager at one of their new locations in the future. That’s the goal for right now, while I work on restructuring my YouTube Channel. I recently got my lighting equipment in the mail from Amazon, so I’ll be prepared to start making album/singles reviews on music which is what I’ve been wanting to do for a while now.

I was incredibly thankful to work for Chiptole when I did, but I know this is the right move, advancement wise. With Chipotle already being well-established in their existence (with a few road-bumps along the way. Ex: the norvos breakout in their stores nationwide), I feel it’s only natural for me to move on. I want to learn the inner-workings of how a business really operates and not just from what I’ve learned from my textbooks and e-Books from university. I think it’ll be one of those learning experiences I’ll never forget. At least, that’s the goal, like I said before.

With that stated, I expect it’s time I open up a little more on here about my personal life.

The extensive work that I’ve dedicated the last 14 years of my life, is called “Arkanim: Tales of the Enlightened Ones”. It is the embodiment of what life is truly all about and the experiences we face in our ever-changing lives and world.

It’s gone through so many transformations. I’ve downsized the story considerably, due to the fact that I had written-in a lot of unnecessary information that readers really won’t care to know about (at least, not in the beginning. I’m sure if this series gets big enough, I would love to republish these books in their entirety!). Nevertheless, at the core of its being, the message has surprisingly stayed the same. I won’t spoil any major plot-devices just yet since I’m in the editing phase right now, but I’ve decided to share a snippet of the Prologue with you guys since I know this Online Journal thing will be something that stays here on my blog/website!

The following is a work-in-progress, but I still hold and maintain all the rights for the work presented below. Thank you for your interest and understanding. Enjoy!:

Excerpt from – Arkanim: Tales of the Enlightened Ones
Claris seemed to nod her head only once as she slowly looked up at the see-through ceiling and raised a hand over her face as the natural sunlight overhead warmed her up a bit.
She was preparing for a fight. “Understood.”
The whole mission would be gravely endangered if they failed to do their part in ensuring that their path to retrieve the two Urksinians was cleared.

Yet, nothing could have prepared the four Grandiose Armada soldiers for what was about to happen next.

Sounds of chaos erupted into the Alverdom Aerodrome as Claris and her comrades hurriedly looked all around them to try and find the source of sudden commotion.
Vershad Ulrech seemed to be the first one to find the source of their problems as he pointed firmly towards a group of rugged and ruthless looking bandits.
There were about fifteen masked individuals pushing two veiled and tied up victims forward and towards the docking bay area.
“Over there! Those two hostages are our Urksinian guides!”
One of the captives, a man with a silent demeanor, was savagely trying to free himself from the restraints on him as he moved his arms calculatingly in all directions – intentionally hitting his captors at all parts of their bodies in the process as he was trying to loosen the very tightly wrapped rope that went up the entire length of his arms.
The other captive was a woman who was screaming out loud while hollering obscenities as she began to kick and punch the masked men holding her. She was restlessly trying to free herself, unrelenting in her determination to set herself free.
This scene was enough to move Claris. The woman began to make her way towards the scene without hesitation.
Yet Shriner seemed to react to this maneuver as he outstretched his hand to her.
Vershad vied for her attention as well while he readily denied any such thoughts of immediate action. “Claris, we need a secure plan in order to retrieve them. If we fail, especially now, then the entire mission could easily be compromised and we may never get a chance to complete our final objective.”
Claris glared unflinchingly back at Vershad as she spoke in curt. “Our two inside-sources need our help now. I will not stand idly by and waste precious time organizing a whimsical last minute plan. Every second counts.”
